A Message from London

The world today is undergoing “great changes that have never been seen during a century of modern history”, and the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 has become an “accelerator of history in the changing environment”.

At a time when pandemic prevention and control is normalised in China, the COVID-19 is still raging in some countries, which severely impedes the transnational communication between teachers and students in these areas. In this “Post-pandemic Era”, the international exchange and cooperation among universities shall play a more active role, not only to build the brand for Sino-foreign cooperation in running joint institutions, but also to undertake the responsibility of culture exchanges and mutual learning.

Based on the actual situation of Shaanxi Province, QMUL Engineering School, NPU has fully played the role of higher education in “building a bridge of communication, opening the window of mind, enhancing mutual understanding and promoting win-win cooperation”.In particular, it has carried out various exchanges and cooperation in fields such as cultural exchanges and talent training.

QMES teachers from QMUL and NPU are adhering to the concept of building a community with a shared future for all mankind, and exploring a new model of online education under the context of pandemic prevention and control, so as to contribute their wisdom and strength to human’s triumph over the pandemic, world economy recovery, as well as regional economic and social development.

At present, our QM teachers are still unable to return to the campus of NPU due to travel restrictions and the uncertainty of the epidemic. In light of this, Dr. Maria Romero- Gonzalez, Director of Learning Development at QMES, would like to brief the current situation of teachers in UK via the video below to strengthen the interaction and exchange with Chinese students and topass warmth and faith:

“During this challenging period, it is more important for us to support each other and care for the QMES family. We miss every one of you and look forward to our reunion on the campus of NPU in the near future.”
