Leaders of NPU Came to QMES to Guide the Work

On the morning of August 29, 2021, at the beginning of the new semester, Wang Jinsong, President of NPU and Wang Yubo, Assistance to the President, visited QMES to show regards to all the staff members and give on-site guidance to the work of QMES.

Kong Jie, Dean of QMES, made a report to President Wang Jinsong on QMES’ current work from the aspects of teaching operation, teaching affairs, student management and student development. Since its establishment, QMES had built a new model of All Staff Education, optimized the curriculum system, promoted the reform of the teaching model centered on “Student Development, Student Learning, and Learning Effect”, and committed to cultivating top-notch innovative international talents. With the concerted efforts and pioneering spirit of all the teachers and students, QMES had achieved leap-forward development and made gratifying achievements in talent cultivation, innovation and entrepreneurship, and other aspects. Furthermore, Kong Jie also introduced the outstanding graduation works of 2017 undergraduates and the latest career development of 2018 undergraduates to President Wang.

After listening to the work report of QMES, President Wang fully affirmed the achievements made by QMES in recent years, and said that “after more than four years’ operation, the work of QMES has been on the right track, and it has cultivated its first excellent graduates for the society, which is a step of great significance to itself, but also has important reference value for the building of a high-quality talent cultivation system”.

Finally, President Wang had cordial communication with student counselors and other staff members of QMES, and put forward ardent expectation for QMES future development. In the new academic year, he hoped that all the faculty and staff of QMES would take “Fostering Virtue Through Education” as the fundamental task, accurately grasp the laws of higher education development and talent growth, and focus on the cultivation of high-quality international talents. At the same time, QMES was hoped to explore and reform the talent cultivation system and mechanism of Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools, strive to cultivate new talents of the times who were expected to be responsible for national rejuvenation, and continuously make positive contribution to the new round of “Double First-Class” initiative of NPU.
