Experience Sharing of Advanced Individuals of May 4th Commendation (I)

Over the past year, under the leadership of the Party Committee of QMES and the Youth League Committee of NPU, the Youth League Working Committee of QMES has thoroughly studied General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech and instruction spirit on youth work. In 2021, the work of the Communist Youth League of QMES has made great progress and maintained a good momentum of development, marking a new breakthrough in the just-concluded “May 4th Commendation and Evaluation” of QMES!The Youth League Working Committee of QMES was awarded the May 4th Red Flag Youth League Committee and the May 4th Red Flag Youth League Branch, achieving a “zero breakthrough”. Meanwhile, the individual awards such as the May 4th Red Flag Pacesetter, the Top Ten League Branch Secretary, the Top Ten Student Union Cadres, and the Pioneer of Navigation Action were gained by QMES.

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China is about to be held, and the Communist Youth League of China will also usher in the historic moment of its centenary.The Youth League Working Committee of QMES launched the May 4th Commendation for advanced collectives and individuals to encourage the youth of NPU to learn from these models and shoulder the great responsibility of the times.

Qiu Quanrun, undergraduate in grade 2019 of QMES, is a probationary member of the CPC. He is now the student part-time Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Working Committee of QMES.He was in charge of 1 National Innovation Project, won 5 National Awards and more than 10 Provincial and Ministerial Awards. As a cadre of the Communist Youth League, he completed his work with high quality and was awarded the “May 4th Red Flag Youth League Committee” in the May 4th Commendation of QMES in 2022.

What motivates you to participate in technological innovation and volunteer service?

Actively participating in innovative practice and volunteering is a valuable experience of mycollegelife.Innovation and entrepreneurship competitions have guided me to think more deeply about the transformation of scientific research and achievements.Participating in high-level innovation and entrepreneurship events such as “Internet +” and “Challenge Cup” can bring us an all-round improvement in personal ability and teamwork ability, and a reflection on personal development in the future.

What are your suggestions for younger students in terms of time planning?

In spare time, we can enrich our life by participating in some student work, social practice, innovation and entrepreneurship, and volunteer service.A well-rounded college life must be more fulfilling and wonderful. Students can make detailed plans in advance, allocate time reasonably, and enrich themselves constantly!

Li Liangchen, undergraduate in grade 2019 of QMES, is a probationary member of the CPC. He is now the head of the Office of the Student Union of NPU, member of the presidium of the Student Union of QMES, and Secretary of the Youth League Branch of QM021903. With a comprehensive evaluation score of 1/110, he won the second-class scholarship at the school level once and the special scholarship at the college level twice. He actively participated in the innovation and entrepreneurship competition and won 1 International Award, 5 National Awards, 5 Provincial and Ministerial Awards and 11 School Awards.

As a League branch Secretary, do you have any suggestions for the branch construction?

The primary purpose of branch construction is to unite the members of the branch, so as to strengthen the ideological and political work of the members and lead them to complete their political tasks. Secondly, it is necessary to hold some activities to enhance students’ enthusiasm for studying political theories, so as to deepen thematic education and promote ideological and political construction.Finally, based on the current hot topics, we should organically combine the related activities with the study of political theories, so as to innovate and enrich the form of these activities.

Do you have any suggestions for maintaining the ideological advancement of the members of the League Branch?

For the theoretical study of the branch, we can turn passivity into initiative. The best example is the activity of “everyone tells the history of CPC”. The students have used their own way to talk about the glorious course of CPC for a hundred years. In this way, we have not only carried out the study and education of the history of CPC, but also improved everyone’s learning enthusiasm.
