The Vice President of NPU Yang Yixin Went to QMES for Inspection
On May 16th, 2023, Yang Yixin, Member of the Party Standing Committee and Vice President of NPU, went to QMES for inspection, and visited the office area, teaching area and innovative laboratories of the school. Fan Xiaoli, Dean of QMES; Dai Fuping, Secretary of the QMES Party Committee; Cheng Yin, Vice Dean; Zhou Yongcun, Assistant to the Dean of QMES; and directors of all departments attended the meeting, which was presided over by Dai Fuping.
First of all, Dai Fuping, on behalf of the school, welcomed and appreciated Yang Yixin for his guidance to QMES, and briefly introduced the participants. Subsequently, Fan Xiaoli made a comprehensive report on the overall work of the school from five aspects: basic situation, positioning and characteristics, talent-training measures, talent-training achievements and development goals.
Yang Yixin gained a detailed understanding of QMES on the Party construction, recruitment, education plan, offline teaching by British teachers, teaching resources guaranteed by QMUL and QMES and internship platform, and expressed affirmation and recognition of the achievements made by QMES in terms of undergraduate talent training. He stressed that QMES, as a practitioner of educational opening-up of NPU, should further play a leading role and accumulate successful experience and advanced practices, so as to facilitate the teaching reform and talent training of other schools of NPU. In addition, he pointed out that as QMES’ school-running experience increasingly matures, it needs to strengthen the construction of institution and system, so as to improve the teaching quality and training effectiveness with top-level design.
The guidance of Yang Yixin has clarified the direction for the development of QMES. QMES will focus on the development goals, refine and implement the action measures, play an exemplary role in building the school into a distinctive international talent-training demonstration area, and make every effort to promote the “double first-class” construction of the NPU.
