QMES held A Saloon for Global Competence by Dr. Yang Yi and Dr. Fan Bo

On 22^ndMay 2019, at the invitation of QMES, Dr. Yang Yi and Dr. Fan Bo met with the students in NPU in the form of saloon focusing on global competence.

Dr. Yang Yi graduated from Sichuan University and obtained two Master’s Degrees respectively for statistics and computer science, and a Ph. D degree for Statistics. Dr. Yang is now working for the Department of Mathematics of McGill University. He also had work experiences of important posts in many international or domestic institutes. Dr. Fan Bo studied in the department of physics of Tsinghua University and modeling for complicated system in King’s College of London University. He obtained master’s degree for mathematics in Cambridge University and Ph. D degree for statistics in Oxford University.

Dr. Yang and Dr. Fan answered questions from the audiences to share their successful experiences on improving competitiveness about oversea study, including passing foreign language test like IELTS and TOEFL, obtaining academic courses, actively participating research practices and enhancing thinking abilities.
