QMES Held the “Ao Xiang Celebrity Forum”—Ms. Bronwyn Jenkins-Deas’s lecture on “Shaping Global Competence in International Education”

On 9thDec 2019, Ms. Bronwyn Jenkins-Deas, Director of Global Cooperation and Partnerships of the US International Education Association (USIEA), was invited to the “Ao Xiang Celebrity Forum” to give a lecture on “Shaping Global Competence in International Education” in QMES.

During the lecture, Ms. Bronwyn pointed out that the mission of school is to help students develop global competence and international eyesight. Ms. Bronwyn then supported her view from the perspective of embracing cultural differences, understanding different perspectives, critical and comparative thinking, problem solving, adapting to change and lifelong learning. At the same time, Ms. Bronwyn pointed out that the experience of studying abroad will broaden the international perspective of students and enhance their global competence in international education. In the course of studying abroad, students can also better understand the world we live in, change their thinking patterns, and improve their intercultural communication skills.
