School of Physics of Harbin Institute of Technology Came to QMES for Investigation

On September 25th, a delegation of seven members from the School of Physics, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) visited QMES for investigation, including Tian Hao, Executive Dean, Tao Hailiang, Deputy Secretary of HIT Party Committee, and Ding Weiqiang, Vice Dean. The purpose of this visit was to exchange and learn the experience and working methods of Chinese-foreign cooperative education, seek opportunities for cooperation and development, and improve the quality of education. The meeting was attended by Fan Xiaoli, Dean of QMES, Dai Fuping, Secretary of QMES Party Committee and Vice Dean, Cheng Yin, Deputy Secretary and Vice Dean, and office directors, and was presided over by Dai Fuping.

During the conversazione, Dai Fuping extended a warm welcome to the arrival of Tian Hao and his delegation. Subsequently, Cheng Yin gave a brief introduction to QMES covering the development history, initiatives and achievements in talent cultivation, and the promotion of educational effectiveness. Dai Fuping proceeded to present an overview of the party-building work, the cultivation of party members, and the implementation of ideological and political education in the curriculum. Tian Hao offered insights into the operational status of the Chinese-Russian cooperative education program within the School of Physics. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges on various topics, including enrollment efforts, faculty recruitment and management, curriculum design, and the enhancement of students’ learning abilities and comprehensive qualities.

Tian Hao stated that QMES has successfully cultivated three cohorts of graduates since the enrollment began in 2017. With extensive experience in education and remarkable achievements in talent cultivation, QMES provided valuable insights for the development of their Chinese-Russian joint education program. Fan Xiaoli pointed out that NPU and HIT share a deep historical connection and similar backgrounds. In response to the national call for opening up education to the international community, the two universities are consistently forging ahead and exploring innovative practices in international cooperative education. Additionally, both universities have been scientifically integrating high-quality educational resources from domestic and international sources, while steadfastly focusing on cultivating high-level innovative talents with a broad global perspective. Fan Xiaoli expressed her hope for both parties to further strengthen communication and cooperation, elevate the standards of education quality and human capital development, and jointly propel the high-quality advancement of Chinese-foreign cooperative education.

Before the meeting, the delegation visited the interactive ideological and political education corridor, laboratories, smart classrooms, and office areas of QMES, gaining a comprehensive understanding of QMES’s teaching and working environment.

This investigation deepened the mutual understanding and strengthened the connection and friendship of the two parties. Moving forward, the two schools will continue to enhance their exchanges and cooperation, jointly promote the “double world-class initiatives” of universities, and foster an increased number of high-quality scientific and technological talents in support of the national strategic development and modernization.
