Then, she introduced the participants and main topics of this Student-Staff Liaison Committee.

After that, with regard to the problems encountered in study and life, student representatives actively showed their opinions, stating their difficulties and confusions in terms of the curriculum arrangement, personal development planning and the role of teaching assistants of QMES, and putting forward a number of targeted suggestions.

Subsequently, the staff members made constructive comments on the questions raised by the students, and expressed that they would spare no effort to help and support the students, provide them good learning resources, and constantly improve the online teaching quality and learning efficiency. Meanwhile, they also hoped that students could strengthen their self-management ability, improve classroom participation and realize two-way communication with their teachers. In addition, QMES will comprehensively consider relevant factors and conduct a questionnaire survey among all students so as to understand everyone’s view on curriculum arrangement, which contributes to making reasonable adjustments.

Besides, Andrew Spowage introduced the Professional Practice System to all the students in detail. Through his explanation, they had an in-depth understanding of the code of conduct for professional engineers, and expressed that they would devote themselves to classroom learning with a more positive and innovative attitude. At the same time, Andrew suggested adopting the code of conduct of professional engineers as the standard to comprehensively evaluate students’ classroom performance, thereby establishing a reward and punishment mechanism. It helps to achieve the goal of creating a good learning atmosphere, enhancing accomplishment and promoting fair competition for students.

Finally, Cheng Yin summarized the main content of this meeting, thanked the teachers and students for their suggestions and comments, and set the date of next meeting. This meeting of the Student-Staff Liaison Committee, on the one hand, provided a harmonious and smooth communication platform for teachers and students of QMES, promoting their mutual communication; on the other hand, created a broader development space for QMES in strengthening morality education and cultivating international innovative talents.
