QMES Held a Staff Training on School’s Educational Concepts and Working Methods


On the afternoon of December 6, 2021, Kong Jie, Dean of QMES, gave a training on QMES’ educational concepts and working methods for new employees and student representatives.Dai Fuping, Party Secretary and Vice Dean of QMES, Cheng Yin, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Dean of QMES, attended this training as well.

In this training, Dean Kong Jie introduced the basic situation, educational concepts and development history of QMES with the theme of “Taking the Improvement of Four Abilities as Our Own Responsibility; Striving to Be New Talents of the International Era”, and reviewed the hard work and efforts made by the leaders of NPU and the heads of relevant departments for the establishment of QMES.Then,he noted that QMES’ steady development was benefited from the full cooperation between NPU and QMUL, and was also the result of the joint efforts of two universities. Thus,as the management of school, we should be responsible not only for two universities, but also for our students and society.

From the perspective of talent training, Dean Kong Jie made an in-depth interpretation of the talent training mode—“Integration of Four Abilities”: as the continuous development of QMES and the adjustment of teaching mode and ideological and political curriculum, students’ improvement in “Four Abilities”, namely, abilities of “Political Discernment”, “Learning Motivation”, “Innovation and Creativity” and “Global Competency”, are significant.He noted that in recent years, QMES has achieved preliminary results, but under the new situation and circumstance, we must always have a clear judgment and a sense of crisis to analyze and study the opportunities and challenges faced by Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools.

Finally, Dean Kong Jie appealed to all the staff members to work closely and make concerted efforts, with the aim of leading QMES’ development to a new level.This training enabled new employees to have a more comprehensive understanding of the school and enhanced their collective cohesion, which also strengthened all teachers’ sense of service, so as to jointly promote the high-quality leapfrog development of QMES.
