A Delegation from Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University Came to QMES for Investigation

On June 23, 2022, Zou Yufeng, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University (NWAFU); Cheng Wenwei, Deputy Director of the Planning and Finance Office; Guo Jun, Deputy Dean of the College of Plant Protection; Li Zhi, Deputy Dean of the College of Natural Resources and Environment; and Yu Xiuzhu, Deputy Dean of the College of Food Science and Engineering altogether 15 people came to QMES for investigation. They firstly visited the History Museum of NPU, QMES’ One-Stop Office Platform, Full-English Innovative Teaching Laboratories, Lecture Hall, Internet Smart Classrooms, etc., accompanied by relevant staff of QMES.

Fan Xiaoli, Dean of QMES; Dai Fuping, Secretary of the Party Committee of QMES; Cheng Yin, Vice Dean of QMES and relevant staff met the guests at Conference Room 413. On behalf of QMES, Fan Xiaoli extended a warm welcome to the arrival of Zou Yufeng and his delegation. Later, Fan Xiaoli introduced the establishment background, teaching operation, enrollment work, student affairs, development planning and other works of QMES. Dai Fuping introduced the construction progress of QMES party committee and ideological and political curriculum.

Then, Zou Yufeng introduced the main contents of the visit. Both sides exchanged views in-depth on related items, including the management of students’ education and teaching in Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions, the improvement and training of teachers’ abilities, full-English teaching, ideological and political curriculum construction, course quality during the epidemic, and data analysis of graduates development.Fan Xiaoli, Dai Fuping and relevant staff of QMES answered the questions raised by the representatives of NWAFU and actively exchanged relative experience. Deputy Director Zou Yufeng pointed out that NWAFU currently had two Sino-US cooperative undergraduate education programs on food science and engineering and environmental science. This investigation provided some inspirations to solve specific problems encountered in the operation of these two programs. Afterwards, both sides expressed their hope to increase exchanges and cooperation and improve Sino-foreign cooperative talents training model so as to continuously make new progress in the field of cultivating international compound innovative talents.

After the meeting, Deputy Director Zou Yufeng expressed his gratitude to QMES for the warm reception. Dean Fan Xiaoli was looking forward to further communicating with the colleagues of NWAFU to provide more suggestions on Sino-foreign cooperative education of the two universities, and jointly promoting the high-quality development of higher education opening to the world.
