QMES Held A Training Session on the 2023 Recruitment Work
On March 1st, QMES held a training session on the 2023 recruitment work in the Lecture Hall 410, East Teaching Building A. Li Pei, Deputy Director of Undergraduate Admissions Office of NPU; Fan Xiaoli, Dean of QMES; Dai Fuping, Secretary of the QMES Party Committee; Cheng Yin, Vice Dean of QMES and Zhou Yongcun, Assistant to the Dean of QMES attended the meeting, which was presided over by Cheng Yin.
First of all, Li Pei elaborated on the recruitment of general type and Chinese-foreign cooperative education of NPU in 2022, and interpreted various admission policies, helping the teachers grasp the admission trends of different provinces in recent years, and at the same time, fully understand the specific information on NPU’s major division, special classes, application system and other aspects. Then, Li Pei put forward three suggestions for QMES’ recruitment work. First, since COVID-19 is under control, more personnel should be sent to provinces and cities to carry out offline recruitment publicity. Secondly, QMES should strengthen recruitment publicity on a regular basis, keep close contact with high schools with excellent students, attract and keep a check on the potential candidates. Thirdly, QMES should highlight the its current achievements in talent training, focusing on the publicity of outstanding graduates pursuing further study.
Dai Fuping expressed that QMES will adjust the recruitment strategy under the guidance of the NPU Admissions Office, and strive to continuously improve the admission score and rank of each province and city, and make efforts to keep up with the general admission scores of NPU. Afterwards, he introduced the current situation, characteristics and advantages of QMES to the participants, summarized the enrollment situation of QMES in recent years and the development of the students after graduation, and demonstrated the key issues concerning the enrollment publicity.
Finally, on behalf of the school, Fan Xiaoli expressed her sincere appreciation for the great support by the NPU Admissions Office. Based on her own experience, she shared her understanding and skills on recruitment work, made a detailed analysis of the common concerns of parents and students, and discussed the potential problems in recruitment publicity. She proposed that the faculty and staff of the school should coordinate with the overall arrangement of the NPU Admissions Office, cooperate with the leaders in charge of recruitment of various provinces and cities to participate in various publicity activities, take advantage of the platform of NPU’s material discipline and the resources provided by the Chinese-foreign cooperative education of QMES, so as to attract students with high scores, steadily improve the quality of students, and contribute to the construction of “double first-class” initiative of NPU.
Thanks to the training, QMES further clarified the ideas, strategies, core issues and directions in the recruitment work, and laid a solid foundation for conducting the recruitment work in 2023.
