SDU-ANU Joint Science College Came to QMES for Investigation
On March 10th, 2023, a group of six people from the Joint Science College between Shandong University and Australian National University(JSC) visited QMES for investigation and research, including the Dean Lv Guangshi; Liang Fengjun, Secretary of the Party Committee; Jia Hongfu, Director of the Student Affairs Department; Wei Fulin, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee; Sun Xiaochen, Director of the Teaching Affairs Department and Wang Junhan, Administrative Assistant of the General Affairs Department, so as to study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, carry out the educational principles and policies of the Party, promote the action plan of rejuvenating schools and universities, and facilitate the cooperation between the brotherly universities of Sino-foreign cooperative education. Fan Xiaoli, Dean of QMES; Zhou Yongcun, Assistant to the Dean of QMES and other relevant personnel received them.
Firstly, the delegation took a tour of offices, lecture halls, Internet-smart classrooms, innovative laboratories of QMES, etc., during which Zhou Yongcun and several staff members accompanied them for introduction. Afterwards, Fan Xiaoli, Zhou Yongcun and the heads of every department held a meeting with the delegation in the Conference Room 413. On behalf of the school, Fan Xiaoli extended a warm welcome to them, and then introduced QMES from four aspects: development status, talent-training measures, teaching quality assurance and current achievements. Lv Guangshi expressed his appreciation for the hospitality and experience-sharing, and briefly presented the development of JSC. Subsequently, the two parties conducted in-depth discussions on organization framework, financial system, Party construction, faculty and student management, supervision of teaching quality and evaluation of Sino-foreign cooperative institutions by the MoE, and provided sensible answers to the questions raised by the delegates of JSC, which brought enlightenment for both sides in running schools.
Lv Guangshi expressed that QMES has accumulated rich experience in Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools, with scientific top-level design, sound rules and regulations and remarkable achievements in talent training. In particular, QMES’ farsightedness in the international development of students plays an exemplary role for JSC. Fan Xiaoli stressed that Shandong University and Australian National University have delivered a powerful combination, gathering high-quality education resources from China and Australia, with strong academic strength and distinctive school-running characteristics. It is hoped that this activity could act as a starting point to strengthen the bonds between the two schools, improve the level of Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools, and nurture more top-notch innovative talents with global competence.
The visit of JSC to QMES has laid a solid foundation for boosting mutual trust and sharing experience between Sino-foreign cooperative institutes in running schools. In the future, QMES will further improve the quality of cooperative education, make a good performance in upgrading educational efficiency, and contribute to the “double first-class” initiative of NPU with the connotative development.
