“Inherit the Spirit of the May Fourth Movement and Show the Elegant Demeanour of Youth” — Relive the Long March Treasure Hunt Knowledge Contest Activity Ended Successfully

On May 13, 2023, the “Inherit the Spirit of the May Fourth Movement and Show the Elegant Demeanour of Youth” — Relive the Long March Knowledge Contest Activity was successfully completed. The activity was hosted by the Communist Youth League Committee of NPU, and co-organized by the Communist Youth League Committee of QMES and the Student Union of QMES.

The May Fourth Movement is a great patriotic movement centered on young students. It is also a movement that emancipated the mind of people and laid a solid theoretical foundation and talent reserve for the founding of the Communist Party of China. In order to further enhance the national self-esteem, self-confidence and self-improvement spirit of students, the Youth League Committee of QMES and the Student Union carefully prepared and held this activity.

At 2:00 p.m., the activity started on time at the Square of NPU. Competitors scrambled to set off to the treasure spots indicated on the map. Students would receive answer cards by finding and photographing the markers in the task cards and showing them to the staff. After the answer cards were collected they could go to the end point to answer the questions. The contestants competed fiercely, which was not only a competition of physical strength, but also a competition of speed!

In the final session, contestants answered questions collectively in the Lecture Hall 410 of QMES. The questions covered the basic knowledge and history of the Communist Party of China, the Communist Youth League and the May Fourth Youth Day. In the answer sheets, contestants fully demonstrated their basic literacy as young students in actively learning the knowledge about the CPC and the CYLC in daily life, as well as the history of May Fourth Youth Day.

In the end, after fierce competition, seven students won full marks in the competition and won the first prize, including Wang Keran, Zhang Wenxuan, and Wang Luwen, etc. Six students won the second prize in the competition, including Fang Ruijie, Yue Lishang, Tian Yuhao, etc. Li Ruochen, Wang Tianxin and other students won the third prize.

After the competition, many students said that they benefited a lot. They felt the hardships endured by the Red Army on the Long March in the competition. The competition also made them have a deeper understanding towards the history of CPC and CYLC as well as the history of the May Fourth Youth Day. In addition, they gained happiness in the process of the competition. Students also stated that they would firmly adhere to the ideal of serving the country with science and technology, and continue to contribute their wisdom and talents to the modernization of the motherland in their future study and life and even future work!
