The Second Student Congress of QMES, NPU Was Successfully Held

On May 14th, the Second Student Congress of QMES, NPU was held in Lecture Hall 410, East Teaching Building A, Chang’an Campus. Dai Fuping, Party Secretary of QMES; Cheng Yin, Deputy Party Secretary of QMES; Yang Shengzhe, Director of the Propaganda Department of the Youth League Committee of NPU; Huang Quanzhang, Secretary of the Youth League Working Committee of QMES; Bai Yixuan, Executive Chairman of the Student Union of NPU; Wang Zihang, Member of the Presidium of the Graduate Student Union of NPU; and more than 50 undergraduate representatives attended this congress (with video sub-venue). The congress was presided over by Li Liangchen, a member of the Presidium of the first Student Union of QMES. The congress heard and considered theWork Report of the First Student Union of QMES, NPUandWork Report on the Proposal of the Second Student Congress of QMES, NPU. Meanwhile, it deliberated and adopted theResolution on the Constitution of the Student Union of QMES, NPU, and elected the members of the Presidium and Permanent Representatives of the new Student Union.

The congress began with the majestic national anthem. Secretary Dai Fuping delivered a speech at the congress, expressed his heartfelt congratulations on the excellent achievements made by the Student Union of QMES, and wished the congress a complete success.

On behalf of the Youth League Committee of NPU, Yang Shengzhe affirmed the achievements of the Student Union of QMES in the past year at the opening ceremony, and hoped that young students would not forget their original aspirations, keep their mission in mind, and move forward bravely; and on behalf of the Youth League Committee of QMES, Huang Quanzhang encouraged the Communist Youth League and student organizations at all levels to devote themselves to the CPC, unite together to dedicate to our motherland and serve the society in vivid practice, and make positive contributions to the construction and development of QMES and to the healthy growth of young students of QMES.

Hai Yingchao, Executive Chairman of the Student Union of QMES, NPU, made a report to the congress on behalf of the first Student Union. Hai Yingchao led the students to review the work since the first student congress, and made a work prospect for the future development of the

Student Union of QMES.

After listening to the proposal work report, the student representatives from four undergraduate delegations cast their solemn votes respectively.

The congress elected the presidium of the second Student Union of QMES, NPU, which was composed of Xu Weihang, Li Ziqian and Xu Xiuqi; and the second permanent representative of undergraduates of QMES, NPU, composed of 8 people including Ye Yuanming.

At the closing ceremony, Cheng Yin congratulated the successful convening of the congress and the newly elected members and permanent representatives of the Presidium and made a speech. After successfully completing various tasks, the congress came to a successful conclusion.

The student congress is an important system of the Student Union, an important way for students to participate in campus activities and social democracy, and also the foundation and guarantee for the political, advanced and mass nature of the Student Union. It is believed that under the strong leadership of the Party Committee of QMES and the helpful guidance of the Youth League Committee of QMES, the new Student Union will unite and lead all the students to make new contributions to the comprehensive construction of NPU for a world-class university with Chinese characteristics!
