QMES Held the First Phase of 2023 Party Lessons

To enhance the level of political theory and Party consciousness and improve the quality of Party members, the first phase of 2023 Party lessons for Party activists potential Party members of QMES was successfully carried out from April 15 to 26, 2023. Through a series of Party lessons with rich content, novel forms and profound significance, such as special Party lessons, practical research, study and discussion, students were encouraged to deeply understand the decisive significance of the establishment of both Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, equip themselves with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and use the theories to guide the practice.

Dai Fuping, Secretary of the QMES Party Committee, delivered a Party course entitled “Shaping Soul by Learning, Enhancing Wisdom from Learning -- Striving to be QMESers Equipped with New Ideas” for the Party activists and the potential members. Dai Fuping put forward new requirements for the students from four aspects: cultivating positive political consciousness, grasping effective learning methods, daring to innovate and being competent. He hoped that the students, based on their strengths and the needs of major national undertakings, would humbly learn new knowledge from the teachers, develop new skills and better shoulder the historical responsibilities entrusted by the Party and the people with innovative thinking.

Cao Yu, a professor from School of Marxism of NPU, was invited to give a lecture entitled “People-Centered: the Principle of Subjectivity in the Construction of a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind”. Cao elaborated on the profound connotation of the human community with a shared future proposed in the report of the 20th CPC National Congress from different aspects, including the principle of subjectivity of “taking people as the center”, the basis of existence, the path of construction and the value of the community. The students understood the internal and realistic logic of the deep integration of the people-centered principle of subjectivity with the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. Associate Professor Gong Shuyan gave a Party lesson entitled “Scientific and Technological Innovation Promotes High-quality Development”. By giving examples of the daily life of Chinese citizens in the new era and the past, she vividly introduced the issues related to economic development mentioned in the report of the 20th CPC National Congress, which provided students with a new understanding of the importance of innovation. Associate Professor Gao Hongbo delivered a Party lesson entitled “The Glorious Course of the Communist Party of China”. He divided the CPC development over the past 100 years into five parts, leading the students to review the magnificent history.

History enlightens the present and classics guide the future. In order to enrich the form of the education on Party spirit, Dai Fuping led more than 40 potential members of the Party to visit Shaanxi Archaeological Museum. The teachers and students visited the four exhibition halls successively and appreciated the cultural heritage and the pluralistic characteristics of Chinese civilization in Shaanxi. The activity strengthened the sense of responsibility and mission of students to tell Chinese stories well from a global perspective. In addition, the NPU Party Committee also organized nearly 50 Party activists to visit the History Hall of NPU on Chang’an Campus to review the progress of NPU over the past 80 years and fully understand the history and brilliant achievements of the university. The students will always uphold the motto of “Loyalty, Integrity, Courage and Perseverance”, carry forward the spirit of “Strong Preparation, Diligent Effort, Practical Attitude, and Creative Innovation”, and bravely undertake the mission of NPU in the new era.

Cheng Yin, Deputy Secretary of the QMES Party Committee, gave a lecture entitled “Chinese Modernization Promotes the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation”. She explained the requirements for promoting Chinese modernization from five aspects: holding high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, continuing to grasp the basic features of Chinese modernization, sticking to the central task of the Party in the new era and on the new journey, and upholding the overall leadership of the Party and the great self-revolution. She encouraged the students to take responsibility and actively participate in the construction of Chinese modernization.

Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress should be put into practice. Through Party lessons, the students’ Party consciousness have been greatly enhanced. They expressed that they would be guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, consciously become firm believers and faithful practitioners of the great ideal of communism and the common ideal of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and devote to the comprehensive construction of socialist modernization of the country.
