QMES Successfully Held A Pre-departure Training for 2023 Summer School

In order to broaden students’ international vision, enhance their safety awareness, discipline awareness and collective responsibility, and successfully complete the learning tasks abroad during the summer vacation, QMES has carried out two pre-departure educational activities.

On July 18, Dean Fan Xiaoli delivered a special ideological and political course entitled “Keeping the Country in Mind and Broadening the International Horizon” for more than 100 students who participated the overseas exchange during the summer vacation. She elaborated the title’s connotation, the consensus on the power of role models, and the action of consciously striving to be the outstanding youth in the new era, and put forward the earnest hope for the students.

On July 21, the pre-departure educational training of QMES was conducted online. Cheng Yin, Vice Dean; Huang Quanzhang, Director of Student Affairs Office; Yang Yufei, Organizer of QMES Party Committee; Luqman Ahmed, Wang Li, and Chelsea, foreign teacher representatives; and all students taking part in the summer school attended the training session with Cheng Yin as the host.

Firstly, Luqman Ahmed introduced the schedule and group division of the summer school, including academic activities, cultural experience, social activities, etc., encouraging students to actively participate, expand their horizons and enrich their knowledge. Besides, he stressed the British traditional culture and personal safety precautions, hoping that the students could show the style of QMESers with a good spirit.

Cheng Yin put forward specific requirements for all the students and introduced the preparation work before the trip. She stressed that during the period in the UK, they should abide by local laws and regulations, obey the management of the teachers who led the team, and seriously complete the learning and exchange tasks. She made arrangements for grouping, liaison, publicity and other related work during the activity, and looked forward to the excellent performance of the students in the summer school.

Huang Quanzhang introduced the safety and stability precautions to the students, emphasized traffic safety, food safety and emergency handling during the trip, improved the safety awareness of all students, which helped the students to better integrate into the local society.

Finally, the students asked some questions and interacted with the participating teachers, including the details of the summer school activities, the food and accommodation conditions in the UK, and the exchange sessions with local students, and so on.

Through a series of pre-departure educational activities, QMES provided comprehensive guidance for students who were about to go abroad for exchange, so that students could understand various matters in the process of studying abroad. QMES always keeps in mind the original mission of educating talents for the Party and the country, continuously strengthens policy guidance and patriotic and cross-cultural education for students, focuses on broadening students’ international vision, and enhances their global competency.
