The First General Meeting of QMES Party Committee of CPC Was Ceremoniously Held

On December 2nd, the first general meeting of QMES Party Committee of CPC was ceremoniously held in the lecture hall on the second floor, East Teaching Building A, Chang’an Campus. Participants of the meeting included Zhang Kaifu, Assistant to the NPU President, Wang Yuling, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of NPU Party Committee, Fan Xiaoli, Dean of QMES, member of Shaanxi Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and the China Zhi Gong Party, Shi Xuetao, Director of the Department of Polymer Materials and Engineering, Li Ziqian, President of the QMES Student Union, and all teacher and student Party members of QMES. The meeting was presided over by Cheng Yin, Deputy Secretary of the QMES Party Committee.

Dai Fuping, Secretary of the QMES Party Committee, made a work report entitled “Shaping Values, Cultivating Talents, and Striving to Build a World-class Sino-foreign Cooperative Educational Institution”, in which he comprehensively reviewed the achievements made in every aspect since the establishment of QMES under the leadership of the NPU Party Committee and with the joint efforts of the teachers and students. Dai Fuping especially praised the personnel cultivation work which has been highly recognized by NPU, students’ parents and all sectors of society and has a promising future. While elaborating on the advantages, Dai Fuping also clearly noted the problems, deficiencies and challenges existing in the development of QMES, put forward the development goals and corresponding measures for the next five years, analyzed the opportunities, new challenges and tasks for the training of international talents, worked out a detailed plan for the effective integration of strict Party governance into the whole field and process of school affairs, and clarified the goal and requirement of facilitating the school development by fostering Party construction.

Cheng Yin made a report on the collection, use and management of Party membership dues. The meeting considered and adopted these two reports and the election method of the Party Committee.

Wang Yuling read out the Reply on Approval of the Preliminary Candidates for the First Party Committee of QMES, NPU. Under the supervision of the scrutineers, the 53 Party members present elected by secret ballot Dai Fuping, Yang Ye, Wu Ajing, Huang Quanzhang and Cheng Yin (in alphabetical order by surname) as members of the first QMES Party Committee.

On behalf of the NPU Party Committee, Zhang Kaifu extended warm congratulations on the smooth progress of the meeting and the election result of the first Party Committee. He fully affirmed and highly appraised the achievements made by the QMES Party Committee and expressed his heartfelt appreciation to all the teachers and students for their hard work. Zhang kaifu pointed out that the new Party Committee should thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, give full play to the political function and pioneer role of the QMES Party Committee in Sino-foreign cooperative education, seize opportunities and work on the new journey with vigour and innovation.

The meeting concluded with the solemn Internationale.

This meeting was of profound significance which was held during the crucial period of learning, propagating and implementing the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, building a modern socialist country in an all-round way, entering a new journey towards the second centenary goal, starting a new round of the construction of the “double first-class” project, and deeply implementing the “14th Five-Year Plan”. QMES will unite more closely around the Party Central Committee with the comrade Xi Jinping as the core. Under the guidance of the Party Committees of QMES and NPU, the school will take the initiative to reform, respond to challenges with innovation, strive to cultivate stellar talents in one heart and one mind, and embark on a new journey to build a world-class school with Chinese characteristics.
