Gu Junwei, the Dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of NPU stands as a national leading talent and recipient of the Shaanxi Province Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Renowned for his outstanding contributions, he has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Royal Aeronautical Society, and the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining in the United Kingdom. He has been consistently recognized as a “Global Highly Cited Scientist” by Clarivate Analytics and as a “Chinese Highly Cited Scholar” by Elsevier. His research primarily focuses on the design, preparation, and processing of functional polymer composites and fiber-reinforced advanced resin-based composites. He has led over 20 provincial and ministerial-level projects, including key projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He published over 160 academic papers, authored or co-authored 4 English monographs, and contributed to 4 textbooks. Additionally, he held 34 national invention patents. He was also honoured with a second-class National Teaching Achievement Award and a second-class Shaanxi Provincial Teaching Achievement Award.
