Prof. Zhang Ying, Ph.D, is the Vice Secretary of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, NPU, and is in charge of the Chinese and English advanced mathematics courses of NPU. Zhang Ying is an executive director of the Special Committee of the Chinese Higher Education Society, a teaching development expert in the Teacher Development Alliance of Higher Educatio n Institutions under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and a member of the Nonlinear Vibration Special Committee of the Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering.

Xiao Manyu received her master’s degree in Computational Mathematics from Northwestern Polytechnical University in 2006. In August 2007, she was awarded a national scholarship to pursue a Ph.D. degree at the University of Technology of Compiègne in France. She obtained her Ph.D. in Advanced Mechanical Engineering from the University of Technology of Compiègne in October 2010. In early November 2010, she continued her postdoctoral research at the Roberval National Laboratory of the University of Technology of Compiègne in France. She completed her postdoctoral work at the end of December 2011.

Yuan Zhanbin was born in 1981 in Huzhu County, Qinghai Province. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Shaanxi Normal University in 2002 and then pursued his graduate studies at Northwestern Polytechnical University, where he has been teaching since. In 2012, he obtained his Ph.D. in Computational Mathematics under the supervision of Professors Nie Yufeng and Ouyang Jie. From September 2013 to September 2014, he visited Queensland University of Technology in Australia, and in August to September 2018, he visited Queen Mary University of London in the United Kingdom.

Personal Profile: Hou Jianping is an associate professor and Ph.D. holder in the School of Physics Science and Technology at Northwestern Polytechnical University. He serves as a master’s supervisor at the Shaanxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Technology. He has also been a visiting scholar at the MIT Quantum Optics Laboratory.

Personal profile: Du Chengfeng is an associate professor and Ph.D. holder in the School of Materials Science at Northwestern Polytechnical University. He teaches undergraduate courses such as General Physics (an English-language course and a demonstration course for “Course Ideology and Politics”) and graduate courses such as Scientific Paper Writing (an English-language course).
His current research focuses on the synthesis, surface modification, and electrochemical properties of two-dimensional materials, including metal-carbon/nitride (MXene) materials.

Personal profile: Feng Dingyi is a 32-year-old female assistant professor in the School of Physics Science and Technology at Northwestern Polytechnical University. She obtained her Ph.D. and has been serving as an assistant professor since 2017. Her research primarily focuses on fiber optic sensing technology, fiber optic surface plasmon excitation, and fiber optic devices. She has published over 20 papers in prestigious domestic and international journals such as Opt. Lett., Opt. Express, and Scientific Reports. In recent years, she has been the principal investigator for research projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China for Young Scientists, the Natural Science Basic Research Program of Shaanxi Province, and the Young Teachers’ Science and Technology Innovation Project.
