Queen Mary University of London Engineering School, NPU uses a Sino-UK education mode to provide Chinese students with British education that emphasizes on developing undergraduate students’ innovation ability. The school builds on the acknowledged expertise and experience of the two universities and their complementary research strengths in materials science, chemistry and bioscience in order to fully use educational resource advantages and high-level international cooperation platforms of both universities to provide a high quality degree level education in the programs of Materials Science and Engineering, and Polymer Materials and Engineering. The programs draw on the academic expertise of both institutions and adopt an international teaching mode with curriculum system, teaching resources, and assessment methods from the UK. Teachers of the two programs are from either QMUL or NPU. 50% courses are taught directly by QMUL teachers. Apart from lectures, the school also offers an online learning system, tutoring classes, experiment instructions and office time to encourage teacher-student interactions. All of the textbooks used in core technical modules are introduced from QMUL.
