    Lecturer in Materials Science 1. Dr. Wumi received her MSc in Materials Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. Dr, Wumi was doing her post-Doctoral research in Cape Peninsula University of Technology and University of Cape Town between 2015-2020. Research project on the synthesis of nanomaterials; fabrication of metal oxide non-enzymatic glucose biosensors and anatomical shoulder biomechanics.

    Giuseppe Viola

    Lecturer in Materials Science 1. Giuseppe Viola obtained his first degree in Materials Engineering in "Federico II" University of Naples in 2004. In 2005, he joined QMUL as a PhD/Teaching Assistant in the Department of Materials, and he obtained his PhD and PGCAP certificate in 2009. After spending few years of postdoctoral research activities at QMUL, he moved to Politecnico di Torino for his Marie Curie Fellowship, and subsequently to UCL as a researcher at the Faculty of Medical Science and then at the Institute for Materials Discovery as a teaching fellow. Since November 2021, he is back at QMUL.

    Convenor for Engineering Design Method. Dr Li Wang obtained her PhD of Structural Mechanics at University of the West of England. She spent most of her career in industry, including Roll-Royce and Unilever. In 2022, Dr Li Wang joined SEMS at QMUL as a Senior Lecturer, teaching personal development planning and engineering design-related content. Her research interests include materials development and educational technology applications.

    Lecturer in Chemistry for Materials, Yamin Abdouni earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Ghent University in Belgium in 2014 and a Master's degree in University Chemistry from the same university in 2015. Moving to the UK, he pursued a Ph.D. at Queen Mary University of London under the guidance of Dr. Remzi Becer, focusing on developing novel glycopolymers with controlled sequences and structures. After completing his Ph.D. in 2020, Yamin decided to teach chemical engineering courses at Queen Mary University of London.

Sulafudin Vukusic holds a Master's degree in Polymer Science and Technology from the University of Manchester and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Leeds. After that, he worked as a postdoctoral research assistant at the University of Leicester. Then worked as a lecturer in chemistry at Jubail University of Technology, and Khalifa University in the UAE since 2013.     Shafique Ahmed

    Lecturer in Surfaces and Interfaces. Shafique Ahmed received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Pakistan, in 2011 and 2017, respectively. He served as a Lecturer in the Department of Metallurgy and Materials, MUET, between 2011 and 2018, and was promoted to the position of Assistant Professor. In 2018, he pursued his Ph.D. in Materials Science at Queen Mary University of London ( QMUL) to pursue a PhD in Materials Science and graduated in 2023. During his PhD, Shafique also worked as an Associate Professor and later as a Teaching Fellow at Queen Mary University of London. In 2022, he received his Certificate in Teaching (CILT).

    Advanced lecturer in Physical Properties of Polymers. Dr. Dimitrios Papageorgiou studied Physics and Materials Science at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, earning a Ph.D. in Polymeric Nanocomposite Materials. Subsequently, he worked as a research assistant in the Graphene Flagship Project at the University of Manchester, investigating the use of graphene and other 2D materials as reinforcing materials in multifunctional polymer-based nanocomposite materials. His work also involved exploring the application of strain on nanomaterials and nanocomposites to understand their deformation mechanisms, intrinsic mechanical properties, and phase transitions under strain.

His administrative roles cover quality and teaching excellence for QMUL Engineering Programmes at NPU as well as Industrial Relations in China.
