On the afternoon of April 14, 2022, Yang Yixin, Member of the Standing Committee of the NPU Party Committee and Vice President, came to QMES to inspect the implementation and progress of the “Northwestern Polytechnical University First-class Undergraduate Talent Training Action Plan” (hereafter called Action Plan), with the accompany of Wang Haipeng, Director of Teaching Affairs Department; Wang Keqin, Vice Director of Teaching Affairs Department and Director of the Admission Office; Yao Rugui, Vice Director of Teaching Affairs Department; Fu Maosen; Wang Jin and other relevant staff. Also, Kong Jie, Dean of QMES; Dai Fuping, Vice Dean and Secretary of QMES Party Committee; Fan Xiaoli, Vice Dean of QMES; and Cheng Yin, Vice Dean and Vice Secretary of QMES Party Committee attended the meeting.

On behalf of QMES, Kong Jie made an overall report on the measures to implement the 30 tasks of the Action Plan and the achievements made in the cultivation of international innovative talents from seven aspects. Dai Fuping demonstrated on the labor and aesthetic education work, the introduction of teaching materials and the work of the QMES Party Committee. The participants conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the ideological and political construction of the curriculum, the coordination of language courses, the construction of all-English courses, the recruitment work, the construction of informationalized teaching, the evaluative mechanism for classroom teaching, and innovation and promotion of international talent training models.

Vice President Yang Yixin congratulated QMES on its achievements in the training of undergraduate talents, pointing out that QMES had created a new model of international talent training since its establishment. He also advised that in the context of the new era, QMES should optimize and disseminate itself, further playing the role of bringing in and integrating optimal resources, so as to form distinctive mechanisms in talent evaluation, curriculum reform and student management and service, and build ademonstrationarea of international talent training.

In his speech, Vice President Yang Yixin clarified the future development of QMES, including accumulating experience, strengthening the construction of quality assurance system, drawing up and implementing related measures so that QMES can better contribute to the NPU international talent training.
