On October 11, 2019, Beijing time, the team of Professor Chen Kaijie and Professor Kong Jie from School of Natural and Applied Sciences of NPU published the research paper titled “Synergistic sorbent separation for one-step ethylene purification from a four-component mixture” (Science, 2019, 366, 241-246). In this study, three kinds of metal-organic framework materials (MOFs) were used for the first time in the world to achieve one-step separation and preparation of High-Purity Ethylene under the condition of four component gas mixture. This research result will provide a new design idea for the research and development of green and low energy consumption process in complex industrial separation system.

This paper was also the fourth research paper published by our university inSciencein 2019. It shows substantial achievements in the field of basic research of NPU and solid steps taken by our university in the construction process of “Double First-Class”.
