On April 23, 2020, QMES held a themed meeting of "Epidemic Prevention, Control and Safety Education during May Day Holiday" for the Class of 2019. The meeting was chaired by Gong Yutong, counselor of the Class 2019. Part-time counselors Wang Changwei and Chen Qingyuan attended the meeting with all students of 2019.

At the beginning of the meeting, Gong Yutong proposed that, according to the requirements of epidemic prevention and control, students should enhance their awareness of epidemic prevention, improve the necessary prevention capabilities and develop good habits of washing hands and keep a regular schedule to improve immunity against virus. During the epidemic, students are supposed to stay indoors and wear masks once they go out. At the same time, Gong Yutong hoped that students would pay attention to home exercise while learning online, actively help parents to do housework. Finally, Gong Yutong emphasized the importance of viewing the epidemic situation rationally. Students should get the epidemic prevention information and relevant scientific knowledge through official channels, complete the daily health report in time and do not believe in or spread any rumors.

The May Day Holiday was approaching, Gong Yutong put forward a few announcements as holiday safety education. First of all, students should not do anything illegal, attach great importance to traffic safety and safely use electricity, gas. Secondly, he encouraged students to participate in public welfare activities as well as ensuring the privacy and financial safety of themselves. Finally, Gong Yutong emphasized the daily health report once again and asked the students to contact the counselors immediately when they meet problems and difficulties.

The meeting was a wake-up call for all the students and will definitely help the students to spend a safe, meaningful and valuable May Day holiday.
