From March 9 to 11, 2020, QMES held online meetings for all the head teachers with the theme of “Scientific Epidemic Prevention and Efficient Online Learning”. All head teachers of QMES, Chen Jun, Vice Dean of QMES, Yang Ye, Director of Office of Teaching Affairs, Qi Yue, Education Manager, and Huang Quanzhang, Student Counselor attended the meetings. The meetings were hosted by 3 counselors of 3 grades of QMES.
In the meetings, all the counselors had thorough communication with the head teachers on important tasks throughout the epidemic prevention and control.The head teachers are required to further strengthen the safety and stability education of the students during the quarantine, keep close contact with the students in need and provide affordable assistance, pay close attention to the students with difficulties in their studies.The head teachers should give one-to-one assistance to students who failed to pass the final exams, encouraging them to lose no time in going over the courses and preparing for the make-up exams.It is suggested that the head teachers should make full use of their overseas learning experience to guide the students with their career development, actively conduct online ideological and political education, spread positive energy, set role models of online learning, establish good online learning atmosphere, and timely organize class meetings for all the students.They are also supposed to remind students to be concerned about the official notice of the university, not to return to campus in advance, and continue to complete daily health report on time.
Qi Yue introduced recent progress of British online courses.Yang Ye answered the head teachers’ questions on the curriculum system, undergraduate supervisors, etc., and hoped that all head teachers could offer feedback concerning teaching affairs in time and thus improving the teaching efficiency of QMES.
