To further enhance the effectiveness and precision of academic support, QMES held the 2024 Autumn Semester Academic Support Workshop on the afternoon of September 26th. Adijat Inyang Omowumi, QMUL faculty member, Tong Miaomiao from the Student Affairs Centre, and the entire QMES Academic Support Team attended the session.

Firstly, Adijat Inyang Omowumi explained academic support strategies and techniques, focusing on key subjects such as Materials Science (MS1), Materials Chemistry, and Polymer Chemistry. She covered methods for identifying students facing academic difficulties, designing personalized support plans, and utilizing various support approaches.

Following this, students eagerly raised questions and concerns regarding the challenges they had encountered in their academic support work. Adijat Inyang Omowumi patiently addressed each query, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere. Through this interactive exchange, participants resolved practical issues, deepened their understanding of each other, and strengthened their camaraderie.

This training not only deepened the team members’ understanding of the significance of academic support work but also provided them with practical techniques and strategies. It injected new vitality into the overall academic culture of QMES. Looking ahead, QMES will continue to strengthen academic support efforts, innovate support methods, and enhance their effectiveness to promote the high-quality development of talent cultivation.
