On June 22, the Ninth Joint Administrative Committee ("JAC") Meeting of QMES was held in the form of a video conference in Room 613 of the West Building of Graduate Studies, Youyi Campus. Wan Xiaopeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of NPU and Chair of JAC hosted the meeting. Zhang Weihong, Vice President of NPU, Wen Wang, Vice Principal of QMUL, Zhang Kaifu, Assistant to the President and Director of Teaching Affairs Department of NPU, Dean Kong Jie of QMES and many other JAC members from both NPU and QMUL attended the meeting.

Deputy Secretary Wan Xiaopeng first introduced NPU participants and warmly welcomed the members and staff of the two parties. Then he made a brief introduction on the general operation of QMES and the approval of the Double Master program during the pandemic, expressing his sincere gratitude to teachers from QMUL for their hard work and caring support. Vice Principal Wen Wang introduced QMUL participants. He said that the epidemic caused some troubles for the work of the two parties, but both universities continued promoting cooperation in teaching, research, and student exchanges together.

According to the agenda, relevant staff of QMES respectively reported on the moving issues of Year 4 students of Materials Science and Engineering, online teaching affairs in the academic year of 2019-2020, undergraduate enrollment plan of QMES for 2020, recent activities of ICTL and JRI-AMAS. Members of the two sides discussed a series of matters and reached several consensuses. The time for the next meeting has been initially determined.

In the face of COVID-19, under the guidance of both universities, QMES would further expand cooperation field and steadily improve teaching quality and scientific research cooperation to provide services and guarantees for talent training.
