The orientation programme for the Class of 2025 at QMES was successfully held from August 22nd to 23rd. Meticulously planned and organised by QMES, the events were executed with both great enthusiasm and attentive service, fully reflecting QMES’s commitment to student-centred care and its supportive educational ethos.

During the orientation period, to ensure an efficient and orderly reception process, over 20 student volunteers took shifts on a round-the-clock basis. Stationed in the auxiliary gymnasium of Ao’xiang Stadium, they patiently and meticulously assisted new students with registration procedures, facilitated facial recognition, distributed Campus Cards, student handbooks, and vouchers for military training supplies collection, and guided newcomers to leave their first signature as NPU students on the commemorative wall. In response to various inquiries from students newly arriving on campus, the volunteers consistently responded enthusiastically and provided attentive service. Their exemplary performance earned wide praise from both new students and their parents, fully demonstrating the positive spirit and strong sense of responsibility characteristic of QMES students.

Fan Xiaoli, Dean of QMES, Dai Fuping, Secretary of the QMES Party Committee and Vice Dean, and Cheng Yin, Deputy Secretary of the QMES Party Committee, along with Maria Romero-Gonzalez, Executive Vice Dean of QMES, visited the orientation venue to warmly engage with the new students. They presented them with carefully prepared QMES cultural souvenirs and offered encouraging words, hoping that the students would quickly adapt to university life, cherish their youth, and strive to grow into a “new generation of NPU” with ideals and a strong sense of responsibility. Each thoughtful gift and every word of kind inquiry embodied the sincere care of QMES, making the new students feel the warmth and sense of belonging to the “QMES family”.

Meanwhile, outside the auxiliary hall of Ao’xiang Stadium, volunteers carried out their duties in an orderly manner, providing guidance, managing left luggage services, and answering enquiries. Their enthusiastic and professional assistance ensured that all aspects of the welcome activities proceeded smoothly and efficiently.

With the orientation programme now concluded, the university journey of the Class of 2025 has officially begun. In the coming days, QMES will further organise a series of activities, including orientation education sessions and welcome assemblies, all designed to support new students in adapting to university life and to strengthen educational guidance and logistical support. We hope that students will continually uphold NPU’s motto of “Loyalty, Integrity, Courage and Perseverance”, strive to improve themselves, realise their potential, and open a new chapter of their youth in the rich soil of NPU.
