From 14:00 to 18:00 on April 13th, 2021, QMES held the final defense of the innovation and entrepreneurship training program for college students in 2021.A total of 63 projects were reported, including 21 national-level projects, 39 provincial-level projects and 3 school-level projects. Meanwhile, 15 teachers were invited by QMES to serve as evaluation experts for this defense, including Professor Wang Haifeng and Professor Li Zhen from School of Materials Science and Engineering, Professor Yan Yi from School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Professor Yu Tao from Institute of Flexible Electronics, Mr. Dai Wei from School of Civil Aviation, Director He Hua from Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Center, and Deputy Secretary of NPU Youth League Committee Xia Chunyu. Professor Fan Xiaoli, Vice Dean of QMES, also participated in this final defense.
The final acceptance of each project includes two parts, namely, the reports of research results and the questions raised by the judges. Each project team made a report based on the aspects of research background, research process, completion of the project, project results and use of fund, etc. The projects involved in this final defense have made great achievements, such as innovative objects, invention patents, utility model patents, SCI papers of prestigious international journals, awards in various discipline competitions at the international, national, provincial and ministerial level, etc. All the experts carefully reviewed the final report of each project, asked questions about the content presented by the students, and put forward practical suggestions in terms of the practicality of the project, the specificity of the detail, and the standardization of the process.
The final evaluation and acceptance is not only a test of the results of students’ innovation training program of QMES, but also play a role in promoting the development and implementation of the innovation and entrepreneurship work in QMES. The defense meeting has provided an opportunity for students to communicate with the experts. Meanwhile, the constructive opinions and suggestions given by the experts have important guiding significance for students to engage in scientific research in the future.
