On November 17, QMES invited Gao Shangbin, a Professor of Yan’an University and China Executive Leadership Academy, Yan’an, to deliver a guidance report entitled “The Interpretation of the Spirit of the General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Important Speech on Yan’an Revolutionary Memorial Sites”. More than 270 students and teachers, including Party members, active Party applicants and Party candidates of QMES, School of Artificial Intelligence, Optics and Electronics (iOPEN) and School of Marxism participated online. Zi Fang, Party Branch Secretary of iOPEN, and Pu Chuanxin, Deputy Secretary of the School of Marxism Party Committee attended the meeting which was presided over by Dai Fuping, Secretary of QMES Party Committee.
Professor Gao elaborated on the profound connotation and significance of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping who led the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee to pay respects to the Yan’an Revolutionary memorial sites. From Xi Jinping’s new interpretations of the seven historic meanings of the Party, two answers to the question of how to escape the historical cycle of rise and fall, the profound meaning of his calls in Yan’an and the new requirement to carry forward Yan’an Spirit and so on, Professor Gao delivered an in-depth analysis of the significance of the CPC central leadership’s tour to the Yan’an revolutionary memorial sites, with emphasis given to the historic connotation of the General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech and his profound thought.
Professor Gao said that the spirit displayed by the 20th CPC National Congress was in accordance with Yan’an traditions, Yan’an style and Yan’an Spirit. Unity and struggle on the new journey, in particular, should draw on China’s development history as a strong spiritual motivation. Today, only by recognizing the new situation can we understand General Secretary Xi Jinping’s new requirements for inheriting and developing the Yan’an traditions, Yan’an style and Yan’an Spirit.
Professor Gao stressed that to make the goals set on the 20th CPC National Congress come true, the prerequisites are to carry forward Yan’an traditions, Yan’an style and Yan’an Spirit over the whole Party, to understand and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, to stay confident and build strength, to uphold fundamental principles and break new ground, and to forge ahead with enterprise and fortitude.
On behalf of all the teachers and students, Dai Fuping appreciated Professor Gao for his wonderful report. Dai Fuping hoped that QMES should take learning, publicity and implementation of the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress as the primary political task both at present and in the future, and encourage all the teachers and students to contemplate Professor Gao’s lecture, and actively make their own contributions to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
