March 2023, the activities of “Flying Wings” themed college student volunteers in science and technology, which were jointly organized by China Association for Science and Technology, Xi 'an Society of Science and Technology Service Center and QMES, were successfully held at Xi 'an Shi Yucai Middle School, Xi 'an Gaoxin No. 5 High School, Xi 'an No. 6 High School, Xi 'an Xihang No. 1 High School. Li Can (a bachelor-straight-to-doctorate student admitted to Chinese Academy of Sciences), Feng Zhuoya (a bachelor-straight-to-doctorate student admitted to Peking University), Li Liangchen (a bachelor-straight-to-doctorate student admitted to Tsinghua University), Li Jiaxuan (a bachelor-straight-to-doctorate student admitted to Tsinghua University), Liu Yinuo (a bachelor-straight-to-doctorate student admitted to Chinese Academy of Sciences) were invited as guests to promote the scientific spirit, consciousness of innovation and creative vitality to high school students through the way of thematic presentation.
On March 2nd, Li Can gave a report entitled "As a Senior, My Thoughts on Grade One of High School" for all the students in senior one of Xi 'an Yucai Middle School. From the perspective of college students, combined with his experiences, Li Can tells the students of the school about his study experience, shares learning methods and imparts growth understandings in a lively form from three aspects: "High school — a city of revival, university — a land of dreams, and postgraduate recommendation and future planning". In the interactive session, teachers and students of the school actively asked questions, and Li Can answered them patiently, which was applauded by the teachers and students of the school.
On March 6th, Feng Zhuoya and Li Liangchen delivered reports entitled "If We Restart High School Life" and "Take the Road Well Chosen, not the Road Easily Taken" respectively for more than 400 teachers and students in Grade 1 and Grade 2 of Xi 'an Gaoxin No. 5 High School. Feng Zhuoya and Li Liangchen shared their study experiences, career planning and learning perceptions in high school and university in plain language, encouraging the students to find their own learning methods, keep a calm attitude, face setbacks and challenges positively, keep their feet on the ground, and brace the future optimistically. The close communication inspires the students' enthusiasm for learning and sows the seeds of dreams.
On March 9th, Li Jiaxuan delivered a report entitled "Never Stop, and the Future is Promising" for senior three students of Xi 'an No. 6 High School. Given that the students are about to take the college entrance examination, Li Jiaxuan explained his understanding of middle school learning from various aspects, shared his learning methods and gave suggestions on improving academic performance. Combined with his own university learning experience, Li told the students that university was a new start and a stage to realize their dreams, and encouraged them to seize opportunities and face challenges courageously.
On March 10th, Liu Yinuo and Li Can delivered reports titled "Ordinary People Can Shine" and "Talk about High School Affairs" for all the Grade 2 students of Xi 'an Xihang No. 1 High School. The two discussed learning perception, learning experience and learning suggestions around three topics of "high school, university, and future", encouraging the students to overcome their anxiety over scores, timely adjust their mentality and the pace of learning, think often and think well, and cultivate a healthy learning attitude. During the on-site interaction, they answered the students’ questions one by one, enhanced the students’ ability to think independently, and encouraged them to help each other and cooperate actively.
The trip mobilized the young college students to go into the grassroots, to carry out innovative, distinctive, project-oriented volunteer services, to keep their country in mind, and to practice and promote the spirit of volunteers featuring contribution, friendship, mutual support and progress.
