On April 14, 2023, a party was held by QMES to welcome the students of the class of 2022 and teachers of QMUL at Nanshan Art Hall of Haitian yuan. Fan Xiaoli, Dean of QMES, Dai Fuping, Secretary of the Party Committee of QMES, Cheng Yin, Vice Dean of QMES, Huang Quanzhang, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of QMES, Yang Ye, Director of the Teaching Affairs Office, Yang Yufei, QMES Party Committee Commissary in Charge of Organization, and Yuan Menglei, Counselor of the Students of the Class of 2022, and teacher representatives of QMUL, including Alan Allman, Faith Nightingale, Luqman Ahmed, Agne Kocnevaite, etc attended the party.

With the lyrics “Blackpink in your area”, the atmosphere on site was instantly ignited. The long-awaited party began with the dance Forever Young from students Ji Suyu, Song Fei, Chen Yiling, and Zhu Qiuyu.

Subsequently, the song Light Years Away sang by Zhang Yuhang and Feng Tianjian took the audience’s thoughts into the vast outer space. Lyrics flowed along their ethereal and pure voice, leading audiences to wander through the universe to see the Milky Way even on a lonely and silent planet.

After the dance and the song, Those Bygone Years sang by Sun Yinnan and Zhao Zhongjian brought the audiences back to their memories of youth. Time flies away! And only the beautiful notes make the memories of those years remain in people’s hearts forever.

Subsequently, Yao Yuhan and Liang Yimin sang the song Distant You, expressing the beauty and sorrows of the youth and paying tribute to youth.

When audiences were still immersed in the memories of youth, the rap show “4027” from Chang Yuhan and He Kunpeng carried the power to move people’s hearts. The lyrics tell people to keep real and work hard to achieve great ambitions during the youth without regrets!

Later, the crosstalk The Sun is Really Wicked from Wu Wenyi and Hu Qinyuan made audiences fall about with laughter and immerse themselves in the relaxed and humorous atmosphere.

After crosstalk, the dance Feathered Snake performed by Zhang Hanwen made audiences enter the elegant palace of classical Chinese art. Her graceful dance shows the transformation process of the Green Snake by getting through trials.

Zhao Zhongjian and Sun Yinnan took audiences to experience the charm of Western instruments. They gave a saxophone and piano performance of Half Moon Serenade, which expressing the sentiment of missing.

Jiang Jingfan and Feng Tianjian sang the song Shallow, “I’m falling in the dark, searching in the Shallow...”, which expresses the romance of the students of QMES. Their performance received the big hand from audiences.

Yuan Menglei, counselor of the students of the class of 2022 and students Jiang Hongyu and Hui Aobo gave a chorus of the song The Ordinary Road. The song carried the expectations from Counselor Yuan Menglei for students, showing the way forward for the youth.

The Martial Arts Series from the Students Martial Arts Association coupled hardness with softness, showcasing the enduring and profound Chinese martial arts culture to audiences.

The song Hey Jude was sang to the guitar by Jiang Hongyu, He Guangji and Chen Jingyu, which displayed the spirit of the Beatles and soothed the tired hearts of audiences with melodious music.

The drag show “Huo Yuanjia” from students, including Yuan Yixuan,etc brought the party to a climax. The performers wore costumes of different eras and painted iconic makeup that matched the characteristics of the times, which displays rich connotations of Chinese style and shows the elegant demeanour of students of QMES.

After the drag show, Sunren Bocan’s Kpop dance series DANCE CREW made the atmosphere on site hotter. His confident and unrestrained dance movements demonstrate the vitality of the students of QMES.

Wu Jiaze and Yue Lishang from Xiaoyao Crosstalk Club of Jiuxianyin Art Troupe gave the crosstalk Financial Embarrassment, which brought the party a new climax. Their crosstalk is not only professional and wonderful with strong sense of rhythm, but also closely related the life of college students, integrating interesting stories of NPU and QMES, receiving the big hand from audiences.

The program Blossoms from Jiuxianyin Art Troupe created a beautiful and elegant atmosphere for the party. The audiences drank in the beautiful atmosphere brought by the piano and dance for a long time.

As the party drew to a close, Jiang Hongyu and other students sang the song Blue Lotus to express their faith and convictions towards their future.

Finally, all the performers and staff sang the song Old Boy together, which not only expressed students’ feelings for youth, but also expressed people’s expectations for the future and blessings to each other. The party ended with melodious song.

It is worth mentioning that in order to further enliven the atmosphere of the party, three rounds of lucky draws were also set up. Along with the announcement of the first, second and third prizes, the suspense of the special prize attracted people’s attention.

During the program, the leaders of QMES and teacher representatives of QMES and QMUL took the stage to receive flowers from the students of the Class of 2022. Dean Fan Xiaoli and Secretary Dai Fuping gave a speech respectively, expressing their expectations for the students of the Class of 2022. Teacher Faith from QMUL said that this was the best night and he was deeply shocked by the party. He looked forward to growing together with the students of the class of 2022 in the future.

This party is not only a talent show to welcome new students and teachers from QMUL, but also a testimony of students of QMES bidding farewell to online classes and the epidemic, and moving forward to a bright future with teachers. Teachers and students became more united through this party. The colorful programs showed the talents and abilities of the students of QMES. Let’s look forward to the glory of QMES in the future and write a new chapter of friendship between China and the West together!
