In order to further strengthen the construction and fulfill the duties of the Labor Union, under the leadership of QMES Party Committee and with the support of NPU Labor Union, the QMES’ “Staff Home” was successfully built and opened in the spring semester of 2023 academic year. “Staff Home”, with the aim of providing a venue for the exchanges, seminars and other related activities of QMES’ faculty and staff, is a great initiative to strengthen humanistic care for teachers, enhancing the cohesion of all the faculty and staff.
The construction of the “Staff Home” is an important move of the QMES Labor Union to serve its faculty and staff members from both China and the UK. Creating a harmonious atmosphere so as to enable faculty and staff members to work with a more enthusiastic state of mind contributes to the development of the school. The “Staff Home” is equipped with microwave ovens, refrigerators, coffee machines, disinfection cabinets, storage racks, bar tables, and other facilities, which aims to build the “Staff Home” into a harbor that refreshes teachers and also a station that embodies the culture of the QMES.
After obtaining approval from NPU Labor Union, QMES Labor Union began the construction of the “Staff Home.” During this period, members of the Labor Union discussed and contemplated the choices relating to the overall environment, equipment selection, and placement, and solicited faculty and staff of the school for their opinions. The construction of the “Staff Home” is not only a requirement for the work of the Labor Union, but also a need to unite and serve the faculty and staff.
The “Staff Home” includes several sections, such as the “Honor Wall,” “Academic Salon Area”, “Reading Area,” and “Leisure Area,” which serves multiple functions.
Since the opening of the “Staff Home,” the school has organized many activities, such as the “Welcome Party for British Teachers,” “Fluid Painting Class,” and “Experience Class on Coffee Culture”, etc. QMES Labor Union will further enhance its organizational ability, cohesive force and influential force, focus on creating a happy and humanistic atmosphere, and continue to improve the sense of identity, achievement, and happiness of all the faculty and staff members.
