Recently, a team of faculty and students from QMES participated in the 9th Global Student Leadership Forum held at Glasgow College of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). Representatives from over 20 renowned universities attended this forum. Through on-site presentations and displays, discussions were held on the theme of “The Power of Youth in the Digital Age.” Teacher Bi Jialong from our school led students Chen Yiwen from 2021 and Huang Yike from 2023 to participate in this event.
During the ice-breaking activities, our delegation actively engaged in discussions and exchanges with representatives from other universities and institutions. They proactively introduced the distinctive features of QMES and our achievements in talent cultivation. Subsequently, the representatives of our school, both teachers and students, participated together in the opening ceremony of the 9th Global Student Leadership Forum with the theme of “The Power of Youth in the Digital Era.”
During the presentation sessions, Huang Yike shared his learning experience in an all-English teaching mode, expressing that the school has provided them with many platforms and opportunities to participate in overseas practical exchange activities. This has expanded their international perspective and enhanced their global competence. Chen Yiwen combined her professional knowledge to introduce her creative product design, which is an “intelligent glass” that absorbs solar energy and aims to reduce carbon emissions. Bijialong presented and shared the talent cultivation, employment and further education work of our school in the student work sharing meeting and engaged in in-depth discussions on the characteristics, patterns, and improvement approaches of student affairs in Sino-foreign cooperative education in the new era with the attending representatives.
By participating in this Global Student Leadership Forum, the cooperation and communication between the cooperative educational institutions have been further strengthened. It has helped establish a better platform for student leadership exchanges, playing a pivotal role in cultivating young individuals with a global perspective, innovative capabilities, and a strong sense of social responsibility in the digital era.
