To implement the requirements outlined in the Report to the 20th CPC National Congress, which advocates for the Strategy of Invigorating China through Science and Education, the Strategy of Developing a Quality Workforce, and the Innovation-Driven Development Strategy, the “Illuminating Rural Hope” social practice team visited Chongqing during the winter holiday. They headed to Chongqing to conduct social practice in high-tech enterprises. This activity reflected a positive response to the Party’s technology development strategy and represented a tangible opportunity for young students to participate in technological innovation actively.

The team members visited Schmidt Elevator Co., Ltd. as the first stop for research. Guided by Yang Jialin, the general manager of Schmidt Elevator Co., Ltd. and a Deputy to the city’s People’s Congress, the team had the privilege of closely observing the assembly process of various components of the elevator. This provided them with a deeper understanding of the elevator’s production process and manufacturing techniques. During the discussion with Manager Yang, the team members received valuable advice and guidance. Manager Yang reminded them that young people of this era should strive to improve their skills, be ready to shoulder responsibilities, dare to strive and become the backbone of the new era.

Subsequently, the members of the practice team visited the Chongqing Hongyan Heavy Vehicle Truck Museum, which is the first military heavy off-road vehicle base in China. It’s from here that China’s first heavy vehicle embarked on journeys to various regions, battlefields, and the world. Through the tour, the team members gained a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the development process of China’s heavy-duty vehicle industry. They also experienced the national spirit and contemporary style embodied by the “spirit of the Third Front”, which entails hardships, selflessness, unity, cooperation, and courage to innovate.

The practical team concluded their visit with a tour of Shinetech Optical Co., Ltd. There, they witnessed the meticulous scientific experimentation process and the advanced research and development environment at the Experimental Analysis Center. They observed firsthand the birth of Shinetech Optical Co., Ltd. products in the production workshop and experienced the company’s strict quality requirements and innovative pursuit of technology in the instrument testing room. This visit not only deepened the team members’ understanding of optoelectronic technology but also ignited their enthusiasm for scientific innovation and engineering practice, laying a solid foundation for their future learning and development.

From the advanced management concepts at Schmidt Elevator Co., Ltd, to the industrial history at the Chongqing Hongyan Heavy Vehicle Truck Museum, and the innovative strengths at Shinetech Optical Co., Ltd, the social practice team gained in-depth insights into the latest developments in technological innovation and the rich corporate culture of local high-tech enterprises. This journey not only broadened the team’s horizons but also kindled their boundless enthusiasm for the future of technology.
