On July 1st, QMES hosted an online seminar on the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition, featuring participant insights. The event was addressed by Liang Jingkun, a gold medalist from the 2021 cohort, and Liu Yuxin, a gold medalist from the 2022 cohort. Yang Fenping, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of QMES, chaired the seminar.
Liang Jingkun shared his experiences participating in the international projects of the innovation competition for two consecutive years, analysing the changes to the 2024 judging criteria and discussing strategies to adapt. Additionally, he presented the thought process and specific details behind the creation of PowerPoint presentations used in previous competitions, sharing insights on how to effectively showcase project strengths, team achievements, and innovative elements within the slides.
Subsequently, Liu Yuxin shared the growth journey of her project team and emphasised the importance of team building. She stated that the purpose of participating in academic competitions is to “promote learning through competition, enhance teaching through competition, and foster innovation through competition”. This approach aims to comprehensively develop one’s overall competencies and significantly improve entrepreneurial and innovative abilities, thereby laying a solid foundation for the future transformation of project technological achievements.
The experience-sharing session provided participating project teams with a deeper understanding of the innovation competition, fostering a positive atmosphere of innovation and bold experimentation. It laid a solid foundation for students as they prepare for the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition.
