Recently, the provincial semi-finals of the 2024 China International College Students’ Innovation Competition in Shaanxi concluded successfully. After intense competition, QMES students excelled, securing six gold medals and three silver medals in the higher education main track. This achievement highlighted both the vibrant talent of QMES students and the effectiveness of QMES’s education in innovation and entrepreneurship.
Since the launch of the 2024 China International College Students’ Innovation Competition at the university level, QMES leadership has placed significant emphasis on the event, actively allocating resources and ensuring close collaboration across departments. Various forms of innovation and entrepreneurship education activities have been conducted, enhancing the innovative atmosphere at QMES. To prepare for this competition, QMES has held two sessions where outstanding students shared their experiences and organised five one-on-one project mentoring sessions with experts, combining online and offline formats. These efforts aim to comprehensively and multidimensionally develop students’ innovative thinking and capabilities, continuously strengthening the competitiveness of the participating projects.
QMES meticulously organised and received enthusiastic participation from both faculty and students. A total of 50 projects from QMES were registered for the 2024 Innovation Competition in both the Higher Education and Youth Red Dream Journey tracks. In the university-level competition, QMES projects achieved 8 gold, 10 silver, and 19 bronze awards, with a success rate of 74%. In the provincial competition, through the joint efforts of NPU leaders, mentors, and participants, the teams demonstrated a strong spirit of collaboration and overcame numerous challenges, ultimately securing an outstanding result of six gold and three silver awards. The number of gold awards won represents 37.5% of the undergraduate group in the Higher Education track at the university level.
