From April 12 to 13, QMES was invited to participate in the 2025 Student Innovation Forum (SIF) organised by the Sichuan University - Pittsburgh Institute. The forum brought together representatives from nearly 30 Chinese-foreign cooperative education institutions across the country. Under the theme “Intellectual Collaboration Across Borders, Youth Dialogue Together — The Diversity and Integration of Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Education and Student Development”, participants engaged in discussions. QMES was represented by 2024 class counselor Ge Qu, along with students Shi Yuqing from the 2022 class, and Wang Boyi and Chen Zhengyi from the 2023 class.

On April 12, during the main forum, student Shi Yuqing from QMES delivered a keynote speech on “Curriculum Design and Curriculum Innovation”. She introduced the basic overview of NPU and QMES to the conference attendees, highlighting QMES’s international engineering education model centred on “diversified integration and the cultivation of global competence”. She also reported on QMES’s outstanding achievements in innovation and entrepreneurship education, as well as in the training of top-tier talents. During the subsequent ice-breaking activities and campus tour, the QMES delegation engaged in friendly and in-depth discussions with representatives from other participating institutions, exploring the characteristics, patterns, and ways to enhance student work in Chinese-foreign cooperative education in the new era.

On April 13, during the sub-forums, students Wang Boyi, Chen Zhengyi, and Shi Yuqing each shared their insights on the topics of “Curriculum Design and Research Opportunities”, “Institutional Training Models and Teaching Systems”, and “Student Life and Teaching Activities” with representatives from other universities. They vividly explained their experiences in learning and research on campus and gained valuable insights into the practices of other Chinese-foreign cooperative education institutions. Additionally, Professor Ge Qu participated in the faculty forum, engaging with faculty representatives from various universities in extensive discussions on topics such as party-building work in Chinese-foreign cooperative education, student career development planning, the construction of academic and class culture, and innovation and entrepreneurship education.

Chinese-foreign cooperative education, as a crucial practice of educational internationalisation, plays an important role in promoting cross-cultural communication and innovative educational models. QMES has participated in the Student Innovation Forum for several consecutive years. In the future, QMES will continue to actively share pioneering ideas on international education reform, strengthen cooperation and exchange with peer institutions, and mutually learn from each other’s educational experiences. The institution will focus on cultivating innovative, interdisciplinary talents with a strong sense of national pride, a global perspective, and the ability to integrate cultures.
