On the morning of February 17, QMES held its General Meeting for the Spring Semester of 2025, during which the meeting spirit of the NPU Winter Break Symposium and the new semester’s leadership meeting were communicated and discussed. The meeting was attended by Fan Xiaoli, Dean of QMES, Dai Fuping, Party Secretary of QMES, Wang Yongxin, Vice Dean of QMES, Cheng Yin, Deputy Secretary of the QMES Party Committee, as well as all faculty and staff members. Dai Fuping chaired the meeting.
Firstly, Dai Fuping conveyed the key points from the NPU Winter Break Symposium and the new semester leadership meeting. He led the entire staff in a thorough study and interpretation of two special reports: “Guiding High-Quality Development of NPU with High-Level Party Building” by Li Yanrong, Party Secretary of NPU, and “Advancing Education, Science, and Talent Development Together: Planning for the 15th Five-Year Development” by Song Baowei, President of NPU. He highlighted that thanks to the collective efforts of all members, QMES achieved outstanding results in various areas throughout 2024. As 2025 marks the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan and a crucial year for the planning of the 15th Five-Year Plan, it is essential for everyone in QMES to unite, innovate, and strive for progress. This will lay a solid foundation for QMES further to enhance its unique features in Chinese-foreign cooperative education and continue to elevate the level of “Chief Engineer”-type international innovative talent training. Following this, Dai Fuping outlined arrangements for the new semester, including safety production and the return of new students to campus.
Fan Xiaoli emphasised that all departments within QMES must thoroughly study the key work points for NPU this year. They should then tailor their work plans for the year to the specific circumstances of QMES, identifying key areas for development and breakthrough. At the same time, it is important to carry out a comprehensive review and evaluation of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and to draft QMES’s 15th Five-Year Plan, clarifying key tasks and measures. This will lay a strong foundation for top-level design and forward-looking planning, aiming to make QMES a distinctive and widely influential model institution for Chinese-foreign cooperative education in China. Furthermore, she encouraged all staff to embrace the new semester with a fresh outlook, renewed responsibility, and proactive efforts. This will drive the development of QMES to new heights and achieve significant breakthroughs.
The convening of this meeting has provided clear direction and key priorities for the work of QMES in the new semester. All members of QMES will devote themselves to their duties with a more vigorous and proactive spirit, analysing and summarising the achievements of the “14th Five-Year Plan” and planning the development of the “15th Five-Year Plan”. Together, we will contribute to the high-quality, high-level, and rapid development of NPU, actively working towards the realisation of the “127” short-term objectives and the vision of “A Global NPU, A World-Class University”.
