Date:2025-06-03 ClickTimes: Author:

On the evening of 28 May, QMES held an Appreciation Ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year’s teaching assistants. The meeting was chaired by Yamin Abdouni, a representative teacher from QMUL, while Faith Nightingale, Director of Education at QMUL, served as the guest of honour presented certificates to outstanding teaching assistants. The ceremony recognised their valuable contributions to course support and teaching administration.

Faith first highly acknowledged the long-standing support and contributions of all teaching assistants to QMUL courses, stating that they are an indispensable and vital force in the teaching process of QMES. Whether it is assisting course teachers in delivering lessons to ensure the smooth running of classes, or proactively collecting student feedback, conveying teachers’ information, and fulfilling information communication tasks, all teaching assistants have performed exceptionally well. As a representative of QMUL course teachers, Faith noted that teaching assistants are not only teaching support staff, but also the “key bridge” and “solid backing” for ensuring the smooth operation of QMUL courses and enhancing teaching effectiveness.

She noted that whether it was assisting with pre-class preparations, maintaining in-class order, and providing technical support during lessons, or collecting post-class questions and providing feedback on students’ learning progress, the teaching assistants’ professionalism, efficiency, and meticulousness had greatly alleviated the pressure of cross-cultural teaching on QMUL teachers. This ensured the accurate delivery of teaching objectives and the effective conduct of in-class interactions. In particular, in aspects such as supporting experimental teaching and group discussions, the initiative and sense of responsibility demonstrated by the teaching assistants had earned unanimous recognition from the British-side teaching team. Finally, on behalf of all British-side teachers, Faith extended sincere gratitude to the teaching assistants for their hard work and dedication, and presented them with certificates of recognition.

Furthermore, QMUL course teachers Alan Allman, Luqman Khalil Ahmed, and Divendra Chauhan also attended the meeting for the commendation of teaching assistants. After the meeting, the attending teachers and teaching assistants took a group photograph.
