On 23rd June, QMES held an appointment ceremony for class contacts of the Class of 2025 in Room A402 of Teaching Building A on the Chang’an Campus. Attendees included Cheng Yin, Deputy Secretary of the QMES Party Committee and Vice Dean, and Zhuang Qiang, dedicated counsellor for the Class of 2025. The event saw the presentation of official appointment letters to the class contacts, achieving full coverage of the alumni liaison network for the new graduating cohort.

The Appointment Letter as a Bond, Building a “Heart-to-Heart” Bridge for Alumni Communication

During the ceremony, Cheng Yin presented the contacts with customised appointment letters engraved with the university emblem, along with commemorative gifts. She emphasised that the appointees are not only witnesses to the development of their alma mater, but also guardians of the bonds between alumni. Cheng Yin encouraged them to embrace a threefold mission from this day forward: to serve as ambassadors of QMES news, attentive listeners to alumni needs, and facilitators of mutual support among QMES members worldwide. Ma Zhiheng, class contact from Class QM012101, spoke on behalf of all appointed students, pledging earnestly: “With enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility, we will maintain close contact with alumni across the globe, ensuring that the ‘QMES Community’ continues to strengthen over time.”

Digital Empowerment, Creating a “Cloud Matrix” for Alumni Services

Simultaneously, QMES offered one-stop guidance for graduates transitioning to alumni status. The event included a live demonstration of the “NPU Alumni” WeChat Mini Program, assisting graduates in registering for their digital alumni card and joining regional alumni associations. A step-by-step guide to obtaining the e-alumni card was also published on the QMES official WeChat account, enabling graduates to “register with a simple scan and join the community upon entry”.

Gratitude and Giving Back, Sowing the “Golden Seeds” of NPU Affection

A dedicated “Giving Back to NPU” donation area was set up at the ceremony, where graduates could make voluntary contributions via the mini-program to funds such as the “QMES Development Fund” and the “Cultural Development Fund”. These individual gestures collectively form a steady stream of support for NPU’s ongoing growth.

Global Vision, Writing a New Chapter in International Alumni Work

As a Chinese-foreign collaborative educational institution, QMES has innovatively established a dual-track alumni network, integrating domestic connections centred around class contacts with regional alumni associations, and an international platform utilising QMUL’s global alumni resources to facilitate cross-border engagement. QMES will continue to foster opportunities for all alumni through academic forums, homecoming events, and industry salons, ensuring that every graduate remains connected to and enriched by QMES’s growth, wherever they are in the world.
