On 23rd June 2025, QMES unveiled an exhibition of outstanding graduation works from the Class of 2025 on the fourth floor of Teaching Building A. Under the theme “Material Minds, Future Designs”, the event featured 26 items, including final-year projects, innovation and entrepreneurship training initiatives, and research competition outcomes, comprehensively showcasing QMES students’ specialist knowledge, innovative capabilities, and practical skills.

The exhibition was attended by senior leaders and distinguished guests, including Song Baowei, President of NPU, Colin Bailey, President of QMUL, Yang Yixin, Vice President of NPU, and Wen Wang, Vice Principal of QMUL. They engaged closely with the exhibits, gaining detailed insights into the students’ design works and innovative achievements, and highly commended their professional competence and creative spirit. The leaders spoke warmly with both students and faculty, encouraging graduates to integrate disciplinary learning with real-world applications, actively participate in industry-academia collaboration, and further enhance their innovative abilities and engineering excellence through serving industrial development and tackling practical challenges.

The exhibition, which took place both online and offline over a week, showcased a variety of works, including outstanding final year projects, university innovative entrepreneurial training plan projects, as well as provincial, national, and international research competitions. These works not only reflect the students’ four years of study and practical experience but also serve as a testament to their continuous growth and breakthroughs from academic learning to innovative practice.

After a vote by both faculty and students, the exhibition awarded four Grand Prizes, eight First Prizes, and fourteen Second Prizes to recognise graduates and teams who excelled in academic innovation, engineering practice, and presentation quality. The winning works not only reflect the students’ solid professional foundation and innovative spirit but also highlight the success of QMES’s diverse and international talent development approach.

To enrich the exhibition, four dedicated zones were specially arranged at the venue: The Student Poster Zone featured innovative practical achievements by graduates in areas such as high-performance alloy materials, advanced composite materials, smart sensing and actuating materials, new energy and energy storage technologies, high-value utilisation of carbon materials, and intelligent robotics. These presentations fully demonstrated the exploratory spirit and innovative capabilities of young scholars in materials science and engineering, intelligent technology, and green innovation. The Cultural and Creative Products Zone exhibited recent works by QMES students and staff, highlighting the fruitful outcomes of collaborative creativity between teachers and students. A Planetary Signature Wall attracted numerous participants, offering a space for messages and signatures that captured heartfelt wishes and commemorative moments. Additionally, a Photo Zone provided a platform for attendees to take group photographs, preserving the memorable moments of the graduation season.

The Outstanding Graduation Works Exhibition provided a platform for students to showcase their achievements and engage in communication. It prominently displayed the graduates’ accomplishments in professional studies, innovative practices, and teamwork, fully demonstrating their growth and progress in areas such as research capabilities, engineering literacy, innovation awareness, and comprehensive practical skills. This exhibition is also a strong reflection of QMES’s commitment to high-quality education and its efforts to promote the all-around development of students.

It is hoped that all graduates will continue to forge ahead and surpass themselves in the vast opportunities of the future, writing even more brilliant chapters. As the youth of the new era, may you not only pursue your own “small happiness,” but also hold a global vision, aspire to broader horizons, and integrate your personal ideals into the great cause of the nation and the times. Through your relentless efforts, may you realise your potential and move forward with determination and responsibility.
