On the evening of October 22, QMES hosted the “Sailing Together for a Bright Future” Welcome Party for the Class of 2025 at the Ao’xiang Student Centre. The event was attended by over 300 participants, including Dai Fuping, Secretary of the QMES Party Committee, Cheng Yin, Deputy Secretary of the QMES Party Committee, Maria Romero-Gonzalez, Executive Vice Dean of QMES, as well as faculty representatives from both China and the UK, student counsellors, class tutors, and all first-year students from the Class of 2025.
The party kicked off with a performance of My Future by the Student Union of QMES. The performers sparked a lively atmosphere with their vibrant dance moves and unique costumes.


The event officially began with the appearance of the four hosts: Wen Zheyu, Wu Yutong, Yang Yanjun, and Chen Xintong.

The dance performance Imaginary Friend, presented by Wang Hui and four other students, showcased the vitality and unity that embody the youthful charm of young girls.

Yang Yanjun and Zhang Jinyu’s performance of Falling Leaves Return to Their Roots resonated deeply with the audience, gently sweeping over their hearts and evoking a warm embrace from their hometown.

The Jiuxianyin Art Troupe Drama Team presented their play The 0th Letter, demonstrating the unique power of blending written words with live performance.


The Baby Power Street Dance Club delivered a spectacular audiovisual feast to the audience with their dynamic and captivating performances.

The song People in Love, performed by Zhang Dingjian and Hu Anbo from the Jiuxianyin Art Troupe, captures the boldness and tenderness of the martial world through youthful voices. With an emotive performance, it vividly portrays the intense passion and delicate sentiments of the human experience.

The British faculty member, Yamin, performed the song When You Say Nothing at All with deep emotion, expressing the romance of lovers who can communicate their feelings without words.

Following this, teachers Yamin and Deng Xinru performed a duet of Perfect. The flowing melody conveyed a sense of unwavering romance. The atmosphere was lively, with continuous applause and cheers from the students on site.

Teacher Wu Ajing and student Wang Yiting performed a heartwarming duet of the song Mother and Daughter. Through a dialogue in the form of letters, the song stirred deep emotions, evoked feelings of longing, and conveyed a unique form of maternal love within the campus.

The dance medley Mountain, Self, and Longing captivated the audience with its graceful and fluid movements. Through the performance, the audience encountered the towering mountain, the depths of their own hearts, and the enduring emotion of longing, transitioning from introspection to profound affection.


The crosstalk performance Imitating the Radio by the Jiuxianyin Art Troupe Crosstalk Team transported the audience back to the era when radio was all the rage.

Three students, Wang Yuhan, Han Yuanzhe, and Xu Junzhe, performed a soul-stirring rendition of the song The Night Asks the Day. Their performance invited the audience to contemplate the passage of time and the perpetual shift between light and darkness within one’s heart.

The Baby Power Street Dance Club’s performance of Famous showcased the vibrant energy and flair of youth through their dance moves.

Wang Ziheng energised the atmosphere with his powerful rap beats and used dynamic music to convey the rhythm of youth.

The song Forgiveness, performed by Tang Yutong and Hu Keyan, gently unfolded the pages of memory, allowing listeners to hear the unspoken words hidden deep within the heart.

The powerful piece, IZNA, presented by the Jiuxianyin Art Troupe Dance Team, showcased the confidence and brilliance of today’s young girls.

As the party drew to a close, the HighCold band performed the songs Mountain and Sea and Flowers. With powerful drumbeats and guitars, they delivered the most passionate declaration of life for young people.



The event also featured a special “lucky draw” segment. As the guest announcer called out the winning numbers, cheers and applause echoed throughout the hall, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere.




As the dazzling lights and melodies faded, QMES’s Welcome Party for the Class of 2025 came to a successful close. Beneath the stage, a new chapter of university life is gradually unfolding. May the lively melodies and heartfelt laughter from the event inspire students to push forward throughout their four years of university. From this moment forward, let us set forth to explore, to create, and to shape our unique selves!
