In the first year’s study, some students of Class 2020 were not completely adapted to the new learning environment of university in time, and did not have enough understanding of relevant subjects. .To help students further accustom to the life of the university and cultivate proactive study habits, more than 10 volunteers of the QMES held the course of leakage filling, sharing their own learning experience from September 6 to September 12, 2021.
The course of leakage filling included two subjects, Mathematical Model and Advanced Mathematics. It was arranged in the form of cross-taught, leaving enough time for the students to digest and absorb the related knowledge.
Teaching them how to fish is better than giving them fish. The volunteers prepared lessons carefully, sharing their learning notes over the past year with the students, hoping that good learning habits could significantly impact them.
The volunteers combined the theorems with examples during the lesson to continuously strengthen the students’ understanding of the knowledge. In addition, they also inspired students to find their learning methods and adapt to the pace of learning as soon as possible. The students actively communicated and discussed with each other, expressed their confusions about study. The volunteers answered patiently and further understood the learning blind spots and difficulties faced in actual exams of every student.
The students all expressed their gratefulness to the volunteers for using their spare time to offer help. The course of leakage filling sorted out the critical and challenging points and consolidated their understanding of two subjects, encouraging students to be more confident in future exams.
At the same time, the activity was the significant measure of QMES to promote the excellent style of study, creating a better learning environment.
