In order to make full preparation for 2019 cohort undergraduate graduation design (thesis) work in advance, implementing the first-class undergraduates education action plan of NPU, effectively implement self-assessment and self-construction work of QMES, and improving the quality of talents training, QMES held an undergraduate graduation design (thesis) work update meeting via video conference at 16:00 on July 11, 2022. Liz Tanner, Yang Ye, Colin Crick, Gabriel Cavalli and other staff from QMES and QMUL attended the meeting.
The participants first summarized and put forward the problems existing in the work of 2018cohortundergraduate graduation design (thesis). Afterwards, the participants discussed related issues and reached agreements towardsproblemsincluding theuseof topic selection system, the matching of graduation thesis advisersof NPU and QMUL, the timing of topic selection, the considerations for topic design for advisers, the timing arrangement of recent and follow-up work, and the confirmation of thesis templates etc. Finally, Yang Ye extended hergratitude to Liz Tanner for hereffortsongraduation design (thesis) andviva workfor2018cohortundergraduates.Shehoped that QMES would workcloselywith QMUL to continuously optimize the process of undergraduate graduation design (thesis) on the basis of the successful completion of the graduation design (thesis) this year and make graduation design (thesis) management better.
Graduation design (thesis) workis an important link to achieve the goal of undergraduates education and implement first-class undergraduates education action plan of NPU. Summaries after the completion of the graduation design (thesis) work every year is not only an important method to improve the quality of graduation design (thesis) of QMES, but also a manifestation of the goal of education and graduation requirements as well as the continuous improvement of management level of QMES. At this important period of teaching review and evaluation towards undergraduate education of NPU, this update meeting is also one of the most important tasks of the self-assessment and self-construction of QMES. In the future, QMES will continue to improve the organization and management of undergraduate graduation design (thesis) work, further optimize graduation design (thesis) working process, and provide guarantees for the improvement of the quality of undergraduate graduation design (thesis).
