On May 11th, the fourth student representative conference of QMES was successfully held at the Chang’an campus. The meeting reviewed and deliberated on the “Report on the Work of the Third Student Union of QMES, NPU” and the “Report on the Proposal for the Fourth Student Representative Conference of QMES, NPU”. It approved the “Resolution on the Organizational Charter of the Student Union of QMES, NPU”. It elected new members of the bureau and permanent representatives of the Student Union of QMES. Attending the conference were Dai Fuping, Secretary of the QMES Party Committee, Cheng Yin, Deputy Secretary of the QMES Party Committee, Huang Quanzhang, Director of the Student Affairs Office, Yang Fenping, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of QMES, Bai Yixuan, Executive Chairman of the Graduate Student Union of NPU, and Qiao Qian, a member of the Student Union Executive Committee of NPU, as well as student representatives from eight brother colleges, including the School of Aeronautics, School of Automation, School of Public and Administration, and School of Foreign Studies, and undergraduate representatives of QMES. Shi Lingzi, a member of the Third Student Union Executive Committee, chaired the meeting.

The conference commenced amidst the stirring national anthem. Dai Fuping delivered an opening speech, giving full recognition to the outstanding achievements of the Student Union of QMES. He sincerely thanked the Student Union of NPU and sister colleges for their support and assistance. He emphasized that today’s young people are blessed with vast opportunities to showcase their talents and a bright future to realize their dreams. He urged the youth to remember the teachings and expectations of General Secretary Xi Jinping, to have a global outlook, to strive for excellence, and to shoulder responsibilities. He encouraged them to integrate their aspirations into the grand blueprint of national and party development and to tirelessly contribute their youthful vigour where the country needed it most.

Huang Quanzhang, Director of the Student Affairs Office, emphasized in his address that the Student Union serves as a crucial link connecting the vast body of young students in QMES. He stressed that wholeheartedly serving all students should be the starting point and focus. He underscored the importance of engaging directly with students, listening to and collecting their needs and challenges, and promptly and effectively assisting them in resolving issues. He highlighted the commitment to making significant contributions towards the growth and development of young students through dedicated service.

Representing the Student Union of NPU, Qiao Qian extended heartfelt congratulations on the outstanding achievements of the Student Union of QMES. He expressed hopes that this conference marks a new beginning, where we can join hands with the Student Union of NPU and sister colleges to forge ahead, strive for excellence, and achieve even greater success.

Ma Zhiheng, the Executive Chairman of the third session of the Student Union of QMES, delivered a report to the conference, outlining an analysis and outlook on the future development of the fourth session of the Student Union of QMES.

Through rigorous voting and counting, student representatives solemnly cast their ballots. The conference elected the Executive Committee of the fourth session of the Student Union of QMES, composed of Yong Siyu, Yang Liu, and Chen Xinyan. Additionally, it elected the Permanent Undergraduate Representatives of the fourth session, consisting of Wang Ziyang, Wang Yuze, Wang Tianxin, Liu Yiming, Sun Yuyao, Guo Huanshuo, and Zhang Yekun.

At the closing ceremony of the conference, Cheng Yin congratulated the successful convening of the conference and the newly elected members of the Executive Committee and Permanent Representatives. She encouraged fellow students to heed General Secretary Xi Jinping’s earnest teachings to young students, urging them to actively integrate personal ideals and careers into the development of the country and the nation and to dedicate themselves to the country’s prosperity. The Student Union of QMES should uphold the principle of “wholeheartedly serving the students”, acting as advocates, confidants, and guides for all students. They should lead all the students of QMES in striving and progressing in support of the “127” goals of NPU. With the successful completion of all tasks, the conference concluded successfully.

Following the formal closure of the conference, QMES convened the inaugural meeting of the fourth session of Permanent Representatives and the first meeting of the Student Union Executive Committee. Newly elected members of the Executive Committee and Permanent Representatives actively discussed the future developmental directions of the Student Union, striving to provide superior services and platforms for all students.

With united efforts and a sense of responsibility, the fourth session of the Student Union of QMES will courageously embrace new challenges and together pursue the dreams of writing a new chapter. Under the careful guidance of the QMES Party Committee and Youth League Committee, the new Student Union will shoulder new missions and demonstrate new achievements. Through practical actions, we will showcase the youth’s vigour and strive to contribute to the development of various undertakings in QMES and the cultivation of “Chief Engineer-type” talents for NPU.
