In a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, they reminisced about their time at the university and shared insights into the development of their alma mater.

A Gathering of Elites, Coming Together to Celebrate
Professor Helen Bailey, Vice-Principal of Queen Mary University of London, hosted the event. In her speech, Professor Bailey reflected on the university’s recent developments and achievements, with a particular focus on the progress made in building the alumni network in Singapore and across Asia. She stated, “Alumni are the university’s most valuable asset. Whether in academic collaboration, career development, or student training, the power of our alumni continuously injects dynamic energy into the growth of our alma mater.” During the event, the university also shared updates on campus development, research achievements, and global collaboration projects through interactive sessions.

Fostering Connections and Inspiring Collaboration
The QMES alumni association has created a platform for cross-sector and cross-cohort interaction. Many alumni have found it not only a chance to reunite with old classmates but also an opportunity to meet outstanding alumni from various industries, opening doors for career growth and resource sharing. One QMES alumnus remarked, “Our alma mater has always been our spiritual link. Alumni association activities make us feel that no matter where we are, the Queen Mary community is closely connected.”
This networking event is one of QMUL’s key steps to enhance its global alumni network. QMUL plans to hold more alumni events in Singapore and other international cities, promoting alumni collaboration and gathering support for its development.
The event concluded in a warm atmosphere, with alumni making plans to meet again and expressing anticipation for their alma mater’s future successes.
Under the guidance of the Office of External Relations at NPU, QMES has established a departmental alumni association and, based on this foundation, has set up alumni liaison stations in Singapore and the UK. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in cooperation and mutual benefit between alumni and the alma mater. QMES will continue to strengthen its alumni communication platform, unite the alumni community, and further enhance the close ties between the college and its alumni, contributing to the construction of a world-class university with Chinese characteristics.
