On 29 September, the Mid-Autumn Festival Garden Fair, part of the “Honouring Chinese Culture” Traditional Culture Season, was successfully held at the Ao’xiang Student Centre plaza. The event was hosted by the Communist Youth League Committee of NPU and organised by the Communist Youth League Committee of QMES, together with the Campus Cultural Activities Centre, the NPU Protocol Team, and the Youth League Committees of partner schools.
As dusk fell and the first lights lit up the plaza, people gradually gathered for the painting-themed activity organised by the Youth League Committee of QMES. Beneath the bright Mid-Autumn moon, accompanied by the gentle strains of traditional Chinese music, participants picked up their brushes, inspired by the poetic atmosphere of the festival. Creativity was intertwined with tradition, inviting all to a journey that bridges past and present.

During the event, students engaged in a variety of creative activities—adjusting colors on digital canvases, assembling diamond paintings, or expressing their ideas on whiteboards. Lively chatter and laughter soon filled the long tables, leaving no seat unoccupied. While students focused on their artwork, school volunteers diligently provided support, handing out paints and brushes and offering guidance on painting techniques to ensure a smooth creative process. The garden fair showcased the interplay and integration of traditional and contemporary art, allowing each participant to capture fragments of Mid-Autumn memories and compose a unique artistic scene.

Under the luminous moonlight, students’ creative enthusiasm remained undiminished, as successive full moons quietly emerged on their canvases. Though we come from all corners of the country, in this moment, we gathered under the campus moonlight to share our reflections on the Mid-Autumn Festival. As the saying goes, “Where there is a moon in one’s heart, brilliance flows from the brush.” With the vibrant colours of youth, we left a distinctive mark on this festival, wishing that every year, we may once again enjoy the full moon.

This “Honouring Chinese Culture” Traditional Culture Season, held in conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival, offered participants an immersive experience of distinctive cultural practices, allowing them to deeply appreciate the richness of traditional Chinese culture. The event not only fostered students’ enthusiasm for cultural heritage but also served as a bridge for cultural transmission, helping fine traditional Chinese culture thrive in the new era. By bringing the beauty of culture to life, it promoted the ongoing dissemination and innovative development of traditional culture among young people.
