On October 20, 2020, the assessment and defense meetings of the Model Class, Model Student Team, and Outstanding Student Pacesetter for the 2019-2020 academic year of NPU were held inroomA100 and D100of theWest Teaching Building respectively. After a fierce competition, the students of QMES finally won awards in Outstanding Student Pacesetter, Model Class, and Model Team with two Outstanding Student Pacesetters, two Model Classes, and one Model Team.

In the evaluation and defense of the Outstanding Student Pacesetter, Li Zongqian from Class QM011803 of 2018 and Liu Yino from Class QM011905 of 2019, both majoring in Materials Science and Engineering in QMES, stood out from other candidates and won the honorary title of "Outstanding Student Pacesetter" and the "Northwestern Polytechnical University Special Scholarship".

In the evaluation and defense of the Model Class, Class QM021801 of 2018 in Polymer Materials and Engineering and Class QM011903 of 2019 in Materials Science and Engineering of QMES performed well and won the honorary title of "Model Undergraduate Class". Only 10 classes in NPU received this award.

In the evaluation and defense of the Model Team, Zhu Chaokai coming from Class QM011906 of 2019 Materials Science and Engineering in QMES is responsible for the team of "Sengyou Kechuang", whichis dedicated to providingintelligent solutions to the forest fire prevention problems in China, performed outstandingly in innovation and entrepreneurship activities and won international and national competitions. This team won the honorary title of "Model Team" successfully, and only four teams of NPU were selected for this honorary title.

In the assessment and defense of the NPU's Outstanding Student Pacesetter, Model Class and Model Team, our students made a concise and comprehensive summary of their growth and harvest in the past academic year from aspects of academic leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship, social service, arts and sports, etc., reflecting the elegance of the young people of the era, achieving excellent academic results, and actively participating in various types of innovation and entrepreneurship and other social practice activities to fully exercise their comprehensive skills. Excellenceand happiness are the best portrayal of their college life in the last academic year.

The award-winning groups and individuals will take the defense and selection of the scholarship as bases, and play a leading role in the majority of students, so that the selection of the scholarship could play a correct role in guiding and encouraging students to advocate science, diligent study, self-improvement, solidarity and mutual assistance.
